In Christ Alone lyrics

Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save

?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

Mother of God. She must be really old. Um, where is the term *Mother of God* found in Scripture?

ummm... don't you believe that Jesus is God?

Don't you believe that He was born of a woman, Mary?
Don't you believe that if you were born of your mother, she isn't your mother?

Don't you think that someone giving birth to you and God creating you are two different things?

ummm... where is the term 'sola scriptura' found in Scripture?

Where is the term 'Trinity' found in Scripture?

Where is the term 'sola fide' found in scripture (trick question :-)

oh, do you believe that Jesus was God or not?

Do you believe that Jesus was 100% man and 100% God, both natures irrevocably and completely intertwined, that he was not a man who became God and he was not just a spirit but a real man and he was not a created being and not a sub-god?

Come on, Cronos, this is a cheap shot. Speaking of shot, better yet, it is like practicing marksmanship with one of those automatic rotary shotguns stuck on full automatic. You make a lot of noise, do a lot of damage, and achieve nothing constructive. And in the end you leave the impression on your targets - for one’s deeds either reinforce or contradict one’s words - that you could care less what the effect is, after all they’re just targets.

Don't you believe that He was born of a woman, Mary?

How many times do we have to discuss this? Mary didn't give birth to God.

God The Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit - ALWAYS EXISTED.

It's not hard to grasp but perhaps some sacred cows need to be killed first for ones eyes to be open.

Don't you believe that if you were born of your mother, she isn't your mother?

Seeing things in an earthly sense has no application in His Kingdom, His Ways. Lean not unto your own understanding and HIS ways are higher than our ways are in His Word for a reason. He knows what man is not capable of because HE made man. REMINDER: Jesus told us in Scripture who HE says his mother is. HE makes the rules for His Kingdom - not man. If you don't believe HIM, who Is The Word - who are you going to believe?

There is nothign magical, or even surprising that an institution in existence since 1c AD has institutional memory dating from 1c AD.

There is something magical about this "memory" which has no authentic written record and which has been drawn on as required.

I asked if you believed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, wasn't there

Mary the Mother of God was at the Cross along with Mary Cleophas and Mary Magdalene. Mary the Mother of God was not among the women bringing myrrh to the tomb.

Ah, but she was there.

(RSV - IGNATIUS EDITION) MARK 16:1* * And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.

Perhaps annalex is a more reliable source than official Catholic Bibles [that translate "skinoma" "body" rather than tabernacle in 2 Peter 1].

Apparently so, since the Greek original and Douay agree with me. It is a bad practice to translate idiomatically what was mostl likely meant literally; many modern translations do so and they shouldn't.

And your qualifications are.............?

All three Marys, Mary the mother of God, Mary the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalen were at the scene of the Crucifixion; Mary the Mother of God was at the foot of the Cross and the other two were “afar”. James and Joses however are identified as children of Mary Cleophas. (Mark 15:40, John 19:25).

James and Joses are identified as sons of Mary, the mother of Jesus. (Mark 6:3, Mark 15:40).

Of course she was there, Annalex. Are you saying Mary would not go to her own son's tomb? What kind of mother are you making her out to be - uncaring, cold, indifferent? Of course his brothers would, also, go to support their grieving mom.

You need to thank OLD REGGIE for guiding/showing you through Scripture the compassion Mary had for her Son - just like any mom has. It might give you a better appreciation of how a down-to-earth mom she really was. Not off somewhere thinking she's high and mighty and it's all about her.

"Incidentally, if you think Mary having other children is important for your salvation..."

I have yet to see a single person say that Mary having other children was important for their salvation. Please name one.

Is the Perpetual Virginity of Mary important for your salvation?

Is the belief in the Perpetual Virginity of Mary important for your salvation?

Ditto the Bodily Assumption of Mary.

Can we apply the same standards to Matthew 1:24 & 25, and the other passages about Jesus' brothers and sisters?

"I stand by my description of Metmom's lack of honesty. She directly accused me of having two accounts when I didn't and never have had two accounts..."

Shame on Mom. She was fooled by a deliberately dishonest "AKA" tag line.

What could possibly lead a person to lie on their tag line if it wasn't to mislead? Sickness perhaps?

"X, the son of Joseph and Mary, the mother of Jesus, who is Jesus' younger brother according to the flesh"?

God's Word is not a 1st grade reading primer like 'see Spot run'.

Incidentally, if you think Mary having other children is important for your salvation,

Mary has absolutely nothing to do with anyone's salvation. ONLY JESUS! It's ALL about JESUS! Why don't you know that, Annalex?

and you believe in Sola Scriptura

YOU BETCHA!

" ONLY JESUS! It's ALL about JESUS!"

Unfortunately, the practice of the Reformation does not match the rhetoric. Were it "ALL ABOUT JESUS" there would be far greater emphasis on the actual words and examples of Jesus instead of the misinterpretation of the words and works of those who came later to merely spread the Good News. Without the letters of Paul the Gospels would still be all that is necessary for Salvation. Without the Gospels, the letters of Paul are empty and meaningless.

Why would she make that up?

Who made up your previous tag line?

I believe you are over the line when you call a credible poster not honest just to suit your agenda.

Now you have another tag line meant to deceive. It is your Pope that has aligned Catholics with the muslims - he said you serve the same god. You need to repent and ask forgiveness of him for going against his beliefs.

Lean not unto your own understanding because it WILL led you off the narrow path.

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

Get used to it because you will bow before THE ONLY HOLY ONE someday and you will be judged by HIS WORD for JESUS is The Living Word.

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not MY WORDS, hath one that judgeth him: THE WORD that I have spoken, the same ( THE WORD) shall judge him in the last day.

We will be judged by only one criterion: God's Word.

You want to tell me, again, how it's not...

ALL ABOUT JESUS
The LIVING WORD
THE WORD MADE FLESH

Really, especially since there was an active FR account by that same aka name.

What could possibly lead a person to lie on their tag line if it wasn't to mislead? Sickness perhaps?

Blaming deception on sickness is simply blameshifting. Although it really was fun watching the troll backpedal.
