GIVE IT ALL TO . . . ? . . . .

--A Research Thread--

. . .

.

7 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need,[a]
12 and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 And don’t let us yield to temptation,[b]
but rescue us from the evil one.[c]

--New Living Translation

7And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. [I Kings 18:25-29.]

8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9Pray, therefore, like this:

Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.
10Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven ([e]left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have [f]given up resentment against) our debtors.
13And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

14For if you forgive people their trespasses [their [g]reckless and willful sins, [h]leaving them, letting them go, and [i]giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [j]reckless and willful sins, [k]leaving them, letting them go, and [l]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.

--Amplified

Pray with Simplicity

5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat?

6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:

Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what's best— as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
You're in charge!
You can do anything you want!
You're ablaze in beauty!
Yes. Yes. Yes.

14-15"In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part.

16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well.
--THE MESSAGE

Mark Kirby:

O Mother of Good Counsel,
Mother of Perpetual Help,
I turn with confidence to thy maternal Heart,
and I renew my total and irrevocable consecration to thee.

I am all thine, Most Holy Mary,
and all that I have is thine.
I give thee my past with its burdens.
I give thee this present moment with its anxieties and fears.
I give thee my future and all that it holds.

There is no part of my life that is not open to thee,
no place so secret, or so darkened by sin
that thy presence and thy influence
are not wholly and ardently desired there.

I want to be completely transparent with thee,
utterly simple, guileless, and childlike.
Thou knowest, O Mother,
all my preoccupations,
all my intentions,
and all those recommended to my prayer.
Take them, I beseech thee, to thy Immaculate Heart
and, as my Advocate, my all-powerful intercessor, and my Mediatrix,
present them to thy Son.
Seeing them presented by thee
and held in thy maternal Heart,
there is nothing that He will not do
to give to each intention the one response
worthy of the infinite mercy and love of His Sacred Heart.

Praying in this way, I can be at rest,
for thou art my Mother,
and all that I entrust to thee will be,
I am sure,
received, and considered, and cared for
with a Mother's love.
Amen.

Not entered into canon DOES NOT mean it was fake.

Origen was among the first to point out it was a fake and also discounted the notion that Mary did not have any other children. The Protoevangelium of James was very popular because of a desire to know of Jesus' early life.

The ignorance of Jewish life is another indication of it being a forgery.

However, the desire for a Mother goddess has always been popular.

You want to act like a clown go ahead!

Do not get personal, Father Flapdoodle frowns , forehead furrowed, frightfully, forthwith, following fruitless fussilades.

Not only that, it's against the rules.

You didn’t answer the original question and now the other questions.

Where’s the Scripture to back up the contention that anyone “ who dares to slight or offend GOD’s mother.” should not presume to hope for the mercy of God?

Where’d that blasphemy come from? Where in Scripture is it said that our receiving God’s mercy is dependent on our opinion or treatment of Mary?

You’re accusing of not being intellectually honest and you can’t even intellectually answer a question?

Changing the subject to avoid answering the question is not intellectually honest.

Answer the questions.

Wow. Look how far down in that process one would have to go to get to Christ.

What folly! Do you feel Christ is no longer on this earth? "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body" --Matt 26:26.
"We should never again use the expression, 'When Jesus was on earth' or think of Him as being only in heaven, Jesus is still on earth." ... "While all the sacraments confer grace, the Eucharist contains the author of grace, Jesus Christ Himself" --Fr. John Hardon, S.J.

What Rome did was take a pagan religion and change some of the names to Christian names. An unholy marrying of Christianity and Satanism.

I think it was a road paved with good intentions. Also, I'm sure the periodic persecutions influenced a desire to "mainstream" the faith. The problem is no matter the good intentions the result is a step away from the Christianity that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior gave us.

Jesus said He was the Bread of Life. Does that mean He looked like a loaf of bread?

He said He was the gate. Does that mean He was made of wood?

He said, *I am the true vine*... Does that mean He was green and leafy?

“Jesus Loves His mother, and has allowed her on many occasion to “visit.” That some wish to ignore these facts ...”

Where exactly are you getting these “facts”? Please post them so I can see them.

““Always keep close to Our Heavenly Mother, because She is the sea that must be crossed, in order to reach the shores of eternal splendor, in the Kingdom of Dawn” —St. Padre Pio, stigmatist”

If Pio here is counting on “Mary” for his salvation, he will surely be more than disappointed. For his sake, I pray he was talking about his vacation to the Caribbean. (oh and that prayer went to God btw).

If the Eucharist actually becomes the body and blood of Christ during the mass, then what’s the white wafer the priest holds up?

That doesn’t look like flesh and blood to me as you claim it becomes during the mass.

really is the product of a lack of faith.

Yes! Good point. It is a matter of faith to believe that God is really right there. The most awe-inspiring realization, and it could make someone afraid, until we remember that he is an infinitely loving God, so different from most of our strictly human experience.

We don't need to be afraid of him (except for fear in the Proverbs sense). We don't need a go-between. Hallelujah!

Sorry Bro, not a road paved with anything but crucified Christians. Rome's strength in building an empire was to subjugate, brutally, all opposers, and they lined their Via Appias with our people. We are Israel, they are Esau.

To get the common people on their side (and their ONLY interest was in "tribute" or taxes, to incorporate them and their nations into the beast that was (is) Rome, they practiced syncretism, worship your idols, only, call them by our gods' names, so therefore Venus is Mary, Zeus is God, etc.

LOL. How dare an officer of Rome be questioned. Heretic! Onto the rack with you!

By the way, I am looking forward to these “good arguments” I keep hearing about but still aren’t finding among the Maryian posts here.

I’m sure the Mary, the sea that must be crossed to reach the kingdom of Dawn is the way to get there, because only Jesus leads to heaven.

If he’s counting on Mary to get him somewhere, he’s not going to be happy where he ends up. Calling hell by another name isn’t going to help and trusting anyone but Christ to get you somewhere won’t get you to heaven.

The Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny were not entered into Cannon. Does that mean there is a good case for them being real?

It sounds like you are agreeing with me lol.

What is in the Word is in there and anything else is either a doctrine of man or a doctrine of demons and Christ said to flee from both of those.

Miracle at LancianoThat doesn’t look like flesh and blood to me as you claim it becomes during the mass.

Have you read about the Miracle of Lanciano? Link
"My Jesus! What a lovable contrivance this holy Sacrament was - that You would hide under the appearance of bread to make Yourself loved and to be available for a visit by anyone who desires You!" - St. Alphonsus Ligouri. [emphasis; mine]

You see our mistake is appealing to the Bible. Only appeals to the Romeble are acceptable.

You know you have the right one when you see the word ‘penance’ used in place of the word ‘repent’.

I hear the word ‘Jesus’ is replaced with the word ‘Mary’, too.

And depending on the edition the entire writings of Paul are either removed or scrawled in crayon.

This works too:

Personally ,I think many Catholics are misguided and ignorant- mostly just weak in following others wanting to belong to the crowd in forums like FR . They are not knowingly hateful, although there are a few who are hateful knowingly who are like demons-most are just spiritually blind like cafeteria Catholics
