Lawyers for the Roman Catholic Church urged a court Monday to let Christians use "Allah" as a translation for God and overturn a government ban that has become a symbol of religious grievances in Muslim-majority Malaysia.
The High Court began hearing legal arguments in the dispute, which began in late 2007 after the government blocked non-Muslims from translating God as "Allah" in their literature, saying it would confuse Muslims.

Liable, even.
Not cut-and-paste, but actual visceral objection to anti-Catholic bigotry and lies on their every (countless) occasion.
...into every post that sheds light upon misdeeds in the Church.
Misdeeds in the Church?
This thread does not state a misdeed of the Church.

Okay, Harley, let’s try it this way. Which of the following is the truth and which is a distortion:
1) Harley said, “One would hope that you would be incense with the problems rather than shooting the messengers.”
2) Harley said, “One would hope that you would be incensed enough with my problems enough to shoot me.”
Now, which comment did you actually say? Which comment is a distortion of what you said? Two and a half years ago someone (you can guess who) posted something that was CLEARLY a distortion. He is still posting it. What kind of a person deliberately posts something that is shown to be untrue and refuses to even admit it is a distortion when the objective evidence of that distotion is posted? What kind of a person?
Apparently an anti-Catholic Protestant, that’s what kind.
Thanks for helping out Alex. I really appreciate it.
Please note, in post #12 of that 2007 (!) thread Pyro posted this: Yeah, but the article seems to imply that the Catholic news organization was saying that, not Iranian TV.
And yet, here we are again with the same distortion posted by Alex Murphy as if Pyro had never pointed out that valid criticism in 2007!!!
Nice work.
Thank you!
Wow - I'm honored. Nice to hear that I'm still at the top of my game!
Oh, and since I see we're keeping score on grammatical errors made in this thread, double points to anyone who can spot the one in Vlad's post.
I noticed that after I pressed the button. Oops.
Then you agree with the Catholic Church wanting to change the name of God to “Allah”. Pity.
Do you think the above sentence gives any added value?
Hey, don’t let it go to your head. :O)
Changing to Allah? Arab Christians were calling God by the term “Allah” before there was such a thing as a Muslim.
True.
A lot of bandwidth on FR could be saved, jobs created and the environment saved if Roman Catholics and Roman Catholic wannabes would use the following posting scheme:
Instead of posting "Its really interesting to see how anti-Catholics here at FR and at other sites invent, distort and spread anti-Catholic nonsense." just say "Standard response 1"
Instead of posting "Servetus was murdered by Calvin" post "Strawman number five."
Instead of saying "You Calvinists just hate Catholics" just post "Ad Hom Number 14."
For those speaking Arabic, it's not a change. Do you think people the world 'round interrupt their native language to insert the English-word "God" when they refer to Him?
If you speak Arabic and you are Christian, the Lord God Almighty has been "Allah" since the time of the Resurrection.

If you’re game is posting distortions already pointed out to you more than 2 years ago, then yep, you’re still at the top of your game. Jesus would be so proud, right? Well, maybe Calvin.
“Oh, and since I see we’re keeping score on grammatical errors made in this thread, double points to anyone who can spot the one in Vlad’s post.”
At least they won’t find a distortion that was already pointed out more than two years ago.

“I suppose Protestants should just start posting,”Its really interesting to see how anti-Protestants here at FR and at other sites invent, distort and spread anti-Protestant nonsense.”
Go ahead and post it. Would it be true, however? Seems to me it can’t be made as valid claim.
“Do you think the above sentence gives any added value?”
No. Because it is untrue. Just like the distortion that was reposted in this thread.
Well, given the volume of anti-Catholic material posted on Free Republic, certainly some sort of automation would be in order.
However, for the sake of new lurkers who might not know the character and caliber of anti-Catholic bigotry at work here, I suppose we’ll just keep typing it out longhand.
Thank you for that post, that they might know you by your fruits.
I see you’ve run into he who believes the OED is the word of God. A weird spin-off of KJV onlyism. OED onlyism.
