My guess, it would be funny if they have ‘recalculated’ the date of the Mayan Doomsday(sic) prophecy and it was November 4, 2008, and they’ve decided that it is a prophecy about a ‘new age’ beginning, and Obama is the one to usher in that age.

He’s talking about making a machine in which by using Einstein’s E=MC2 but using light vs. Mass to create gravity, thereby creating a black hole. This is at the sub-atomic particle level right now — like being only able to send a proton.
Been WAYYYYY too long since I’ve had conversations about this stuff (my cousin used to work at Fermilab, and my Uncle is a physics teacher), for me to be of any use in discussing the topic though — except from a philosophical angle (paradoxes and such).
At the point I stopped watching (it’s paused) they began talking about how many scientists think we live in a parallel universe, or multiverse. The scientist mentions that if he actually built a time-machine and left it on for say 100 years, people could ONLY go back to the time he turned it on.
Then they start talking about OTHER WORLDLY creatures who may have invented time travel 10s of thousands of years ago — then we could use THEIR technology to travel back as far as our world corresponded to the first time they used their machine...
Honestly, it all sounds like one of my all-time favorite Sci-Fi shows: Sliders ...
There are more Mayans around today then Danes or Norwegians, about 6 million in various Mayan areas of Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.
