Time to call out the Big Guns.
Some of you have heard thru FReepmail that a week and a half ago a mass was found during a routine chest X-Ray. 2 days later they did a CT Scan. Yesterday I had a Biopsy done. I just got off the phone with my Doctor.
I have cancer.
Specifically, Adenocarcinoma. More tests need to be done to determine the stage and if it is just the one tumor or if it has spread.
Please include me in your Prayers that this can be treated. The most powerful weapon I can employ in this fight is Prayer.
We are still praying, Petruchio ....
Ping to Logan’s Prayer Warriors and trussell’s Pray-ers...
Prayers that you have the best care there is and that you
are a survivor of this terrible disease, too!
Oh my gosh! With two broken ribs no wonder you hurt so much.
Will continue prayers for a speedy recovery.
My family will be praying for you and yours.
Please PING with an update, if possible.
God bless.
Thank you for letting us know. Prayers continue...
Thank you for the update, Petruchio. You are in my Prayers.

I’ll be praying for you. God bless you and your family.
Two broken ribs can add discomfort (as an understatement). Glad you finally found out I bet. Praying your spots disappear completely and you are feeling better and better all the time.
Hang in there, Petruchio! Prayers are on the way.
God be with you, making you stronger every
day, bringing you His mercy and healing.
Broken ribs eh.
After my Node removal, I asked the nurse about why I had this kind of hole in my side and she said, “oh, that’s
just where they removed one of your ribs to do the operation”. I got really excited and mad, no one tole
me they were going to DO THAT! Grrrrrrr. So now
thirty years later I’m kind of fat on that side cause there
isn’t a rib there. Wonderful.
Thinking and praying for you.
Your FRiend.

Prayers continue.
Prayer bump.
Update:
Tomorrow I start a 10 week Pulmonary Rehab program. I hope it helps me gain some endurance. Also last month they put me on Insulin, The pills just weren’t doin’ it anymore.
UPDATE:
A lot has been happening lately. 2 more sessions and I am done with Pulmonary Rehab. I think it is helping. The Dungeon Mistress . . . errrrr, I mean Rehab Therapist, is smokin’! If I was only 20 years younger . . .[sigh] One good thing is the pain from the busted ribs is finally gone. I even have some stamina now. I can use the snow blower and clear the driveway (85 foot, 2 cars wide) and the 2 sidewalks in one nonstop session! However shoveling off the 8’ x 6’ porch wipes me out bigtime.
Today I met with the cancer Dr. and reviewed my latest test results. I have mixed feelings on this part. Back in the spring when I had the surgery, they said they saw something in my left lung, but wanted to look again after I healed. Ok, they know what they are doing. (I hope) After 3 months I had a followup CT scan. It showed that the “something” in my left lung cleared up. It must have been leftover crap from the pneumonia I had in March. However, they found some ‘new spots” on what is left of my right lung. Not sure if it was new cancer or “artifacts” from the surgery. Wait 4 months and test again. [grumble]
In December I had another CT scan. the spots are unchanged. So, they think they are artifacts. Will keep watching them tho. However . . . Now the lymph nodes alongside the trachea where the right lung used to be are now larger than they were. So, last week I had another PET scan. The results are inconclusive. Do another scan in 3 months.
Bottom line:
After 7 months, 2 PET scans, 3 CT scans and umteen Doctor appointments no one knows if they got it all or if I still have cancer. I still have this damn axe hanging over my head. Each time I go in I hope they will say I am clean. Instead I get this “we don’t know” crap. [grumble, grumble, grumble] My brother thinks that this is all good. If they can’t see it then don’t worry. I would rather have a definitive answer.
Anyway, that is how things are here. On a positive note, switching to Insulin was the right thing to do. At least my Blood Sugar is close to what it should be.
