Brigham Young University has denied an appeal to award a diploma that the creator of a Mormon beefcake calendar says he earned.
Chad Hardy's diploma was withheld by BYU last fall after he was excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which owns and runs the school. Hardy was excommunicated during the month between completing his courses and graduation ceremonies.
Hardy appealed and met with Dean of Students Vernon L. Heperi on Feb. 13. In the meeting, Heperi sought to determine whether Hardy's life is guided by the school's honor code, which reflects the values of the Mormon church.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15
14. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

LIGHT porn alert!!
Only TWO choices?
Please feel free to suggest a third possibility.
She may have been innocently passing along misinformation that she had heard. By the same token, she may have known the church's real position regarding military service and been deliberately lying about it. Either is possible.
Gee, I’ve know people who requested that they be taken off the rolls of the Mormon Church and had a very difficult time getting them to comply with their requests. If all a guy has to do is take his shirt off and have a picture taken, that problem is solved.
I know Mormonism is a cult, but I call B.S. on this statement. BTW, she was probably telling her parents you were a "missionary date".
It is considered a great honor to serve in the military

And an even greater honor to be a draft dodger ...
She told me that her church (LDS) tries to get young men to sign as Conscientious objectors.

During Vietnam, George Romney and other mormon leaders arranged for draft deferals to be handed out like candy...
his own son, Willard Mitt got at least TWO...
SWEEEEEEET...
What happened to all the mormon missionaries who posed in the semi-nude ???
I hope their diplomas were yanked too...
Here’s what Mitt had to say about it:
“My sons are all adults and they’ve made decisions about their careers and they’ve chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard. One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I’d be a great president. I respect that and respect all those and the way they serve this great country.”

Did all FIVE of Romney’s healthy and eligible sons race for the recruiters that day in Feb 2008, when Romney dropped out of the race ?????
You guys are cracking me up! What penny? The whole point if the church's position was that he had NOT paid tithing for 6 years, he didn't attend his meetings, didn't wear his temple garments, and didn't abide by the standards of the church, or BYU, and DID make a gay beefcake calendar trying to put LDS missionaries is a gay light. The Church was right to do what it did, so was BYU.
I swear, sometimes I think you guys lap up any and all ex Mormon propaganda the same way a liberal laps up the NY Times.
FR really needs an ignore button.
I know there are non Mormon students at BYU, are they given LDS rights due to their tuition being equal to a tithe?
Do the non LDS members have to abide by the rules of the Church or just BYU?
These are all points of contention were he to pursue any actions. The Church pieces will more than likly not be consdiered though the acceptable behavior clauses of BYU itself will be in play. However since BYU is accredited he should just insist they help transfer his hours and he can finish at a tradition college.
Also I don't think the photos were aimed at a male market. Never underestimate the female market for such.
I know Mormonism is a cult, but I call B.S. on this statement. BTW, she was probably telling her parents you were a “missionary date”.
Call it bovine fertilizer all you want but that is what she said.
She did keep all the boys in the Mormon church happy ( and a few others, so maybe it was a “missionary position date” after all. ;-)
IIRC, the ACLU was involved and was trying to sue to have BYU do the whole co-ed dorm thing. BYU wouldn’t give an inch and the ACLU caved.
No what is really amazing and a complete crack up is that you guys know what porn and homoerotic photos look like.

This young man already had contempt so in reality he was already and x Mormon before the Church made it offical.
The Church does not condone SS behavior it is not acceptable, yes there LDS who have struggles with SS but it is the acting on those feelings (or a full surrender which is different than stumbling) that they get into trouble with the Church!
So I can read just like you last year the spin was different from you folks....
any way to stick it to the LDS is the motivation for most of these post!
We are not the Church but the next best to stick it to the LDS is to hit the Church and the leaders is how the nemesis vent towards the LDS since one can not make it personal so the next best way is to come in the back door!
the LDS are recented because we will not bend and make many uncomfortable even though the LDS have flaws like the rest of the Lord children but many of us do strive to walk the walk!
