Perhaps this is why Tim Kaine, a Catholic, is so high on Obama’s short list of VP possibles?
Sweet: The fundraising image inserted into this when I first completed the post is a YouTube of “The One,” McCain’s ad mocking Obama’s Messianic self-promotion.
I mean, I am all for good news, but how is a decline of that magnitude in such a short time even possible? This poll smells of manipulation to me, albeit pro-McCain manipulation. After all, pollsters need the election to be close, otherwise no one will pay money to get access to their polls. 26 pts is just too much of a swing to be plausible.
Maybe it’s because the “Messiah” stands for everything that the Catholic Church rejects.
That’s a good start.
**Such a massive rejection of a Democratic nominee is striking since Catholics come from heavily Democratic regions **
And Catholics are changing. Many of these old-timer FDR lovers are passing on. And in their place we have a whole new generation of CONSERVATIVE Catholics.
Thank you, God!

I think it’s likely because those Catholics finally got full information about Obama’s enthusiastic support of abortion, for any reason whatsoever, at any stage of pregnancy, AND with government funding. Until a few months ago, all most folks ever heard of Obama was the adulation coming from the MSM. Now there is much more being brought to light, and folks who might have though they’d vote for him earlier are seeing him for who he really is, and they aren’t liking what they see.
These polls of Catholics are always a little problematic. Many self-identified Catholics, especially in the northeast, have not been inside a church in years.
Churchgoing Catholics tend to be more conservative than their lapsed brethren.
My question is this: Why, with his record, did he ever have support from Catholics???
When you consider that Hispanics are nearly 100% Catholic or Evangelical, and are strongly pro-Obama (except for the Cubans), McCain’s lead among non-Hispanic Catholics must be very large.
It's very well done and can be used anywhere.
Any Christian, any decent human, that reads these would have to side with McCain over Obama.
i certainly hope so, he’s the most pro-abortion candidate ever to run for the presidency.
