A ping to some of the protestant brethren....
Mary is worthy of great honor, but she is not deity. We have the very clear instruction in the bible of Who we should pray to and it isn’t Mary.
Ping to NYer.
Catholics do not worship Mary.
I am not Catholic,...but...I'd feel much more confident about the future of our nation if Catholics would really BE Catholic. ( That includes all of our Catholic legislators.)
Personally, I am not going to be picky picky about what Catholic believe regarding Mary.
Judging by Mark Twains comments and the preponderance of "Mary" threads as of late I would say that's debatable.
I think the Amish are “quaint” in their beliefs. Well...I think Catholics are “quaint” too with regard to Mary. We would all get along better as Christians if we took that attitude.
Catholics do not claim to worship Mary. You may argue that they are doing so inadvertently, but that’s a different argument.
Catholicism does not teach the worship of Mary.
The author is a liar, but he does play The Game very well.
Twain states clearly he could be wrong. The "preponderance of 'Mary' threads" does nothing to "prove" Catholics worship Mary.
They are, however, filled with evidence of anti-Catholic hate.
I would generally agree.
I sometimes feel that fundamentalists dislike Catholics more than they dislike atheists. Perhaps it is due to the teaching of actual science in the Catholic schools that drives their anger.
I often recall with great amusement the folks who try to calculate the date the Earth was created, some being so certain and specific as to say "Yeah, and it was a Thursday, in October 4xxx B.C.!"
I've read through some of the many articles posted as of late and I would have to say that based upon the words used by the authors that yes indeed, Mary is worshipped.

I don't dislike Catholics nor am I angry at them.
Interesting post considering last night I was with a group of Southern Baptists (including a pastor) that went to see this...

Very funny!
Catholic-hater: "No you don't, you believe what I say you believe, and it's NOT that. Your efforts to disagree with me are just denial or spin or mincing of words..."
Catholic: "But it's MY faith, I know what we--"
Catholic-hater: "SPIN!"
Forerunner denies the Trinity, and is sabbatarian. Just saying.
That would be true if they used the word "worship."
Got a link to that?
