Can have people intimately familiar with the Mormonism heresies telling others the truth now can they! We’ve seen here at FR how the dissembling and deceit runs deep within Mormonism. It will be too easy for the dnc goons to destroy Romney over Mormonism, so the Pubbies cannot afford to nominate that man.

Hirschi said he has never been in a meeting in his own 20 years as a Mormon where a public announcement about an excommunication has been made. He said he had only heard of one being made in a neighboring stake . . .

Lamborn must have known something. 'Nuff said.

” “Well, I had no knowledge of multiple wives, so I did some research, including using the church’s own genealogical Web site, familysearch.org,” Lamborn said.

He found the information concurred with the book. “Nonmembers seemed to know more about the personal life of Joseph Smith than me,” he said.”

I think I’ll read “Under the Banner of Heaven” again. Great read, and it’s been a while.

“He said he intends to continue to accompany his wife, Nancy, to ward services.
“It is tough to go, tough to attend, but I enjoy the fellowship,” he said.
He said he has no desire to join another church, adding that the Mormon faith has many merits”

How can you continue to go to a church you no longer believe in? Since everyone knows you’re now a non-believer - where’s the fellowship in that?

” was informed he was no longer a church member, could not “enjoy any membership privileges, including the wearing of temple garments and the payment of tithes and offerings.”

Kill the Messenger!!

If you get kicked out of the LDS organization, then you automatically become an ANTI; thereby insuring that ANY thing you say negative about the Organization can then be dismissed by the Truly Faithful - Viola! - damage control is in place and functioning.

Actually, contrary to MSNBC (Yes - its just shocking, shocking, I tell you that liberal pieces get it wrong again) depending on the nature of the case public confession or public acknowledgement isn't "rare".

In one ward I was in a member of the Stake High Council got busted committing Fraud at his business. Due to the public nature of his position part of his repentance process was to publicly apologize and confess over the pulpit to the various wards in the Stake.

“thousands of reasons the church can’t be what it claims to be.”

Then why on earth would he want to stay? Bye bye. No hard feelings. Maybe he can find a church more to his liking. There are thousands of them out there - one on every corner.

It’s all falderal. It is their church. They can do anything they want to with it. They have a president. Their faith is run like a business. What difference does it make how they may in fight?

When my friend in Basic Training told me a little about I looked askance at him and went on my way. The more contact I have had the more I know that what we think matters not at all to the LDS. Can't you grok it?

I’m an ex-Mormon, and I quit because I no longer believed in the LDS doctrines. That said, it sounds like this guy wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to denounce the church as false, yet he doesn’t want to be excommunicated. If he really no longer believes, then he needs to get a big cup of STFU and just leave the church. He can criticize it from the outside if he likes, but is he really that surprised that he’s being kicked out the way he’s doing things?
