"Course, you'll agree with us in the Ecumenical Council cause you can't wait for Clown Masses and other "Frankish" innovations we've been slammed with since our last Council. :-D"

Never, ever, trust a French clown!

"I have the same Spirit within me that the church leaders have in them...I am told to 'search the scriptures' to know that I have eternal life...Not to blindly trust a bishop, deacon or priest..."

Years ago, after I had become a Catholic, then fallen away from the practice of my faith, I came to a crossroads. I had been with a Baptist Bible study group for a year or two, and felt myself on the horns of a dilemma. Finally, one night, I prayed, "What shall I do, Lord? Shall I leave the Catholic Church? All I want is the TRUTH, wherever that leads me."

I know it will sound odd to those who have never had a similar experience, but I heard a voice within say, "No! I want you to go to Mass, and Confession, and Communion, and do all the things that good Catholics do, because I have work for you to do in My Church."

I obeyed, and have never been sorry even once. God bless you.

You, of course, mean The "day of preparation" for the Passover....don't you? [Matthew 27:62][Mark 15:42][Luke 23:54][John 19:31]

I'm sorry....I misread your post. You actually mean some days later, on the shore of Galilee [John 21:15-17].

Whenever I see the word Easter used I automatically think Passover.

This is a complex topic. On one hand, I believe that Catholicism should be made mandatory via the establishment of relgious re-education camps. On the other hand, it might be better to abolish Catholicism completely.

baby discovered Baby Jesus in the windows and started yelling "Hi Baby" to Him. So, I was sort of distracted.

LOL! We've been taking turns going to Mass, one group in the morning and one in the evening, because our little boys have no volume control.

LOOK, JAMES, THERE'S JESUS ON THE CROSS!

IT'S JESUS ON THE CROSS, PAT!

JAMES, THERE'S FATHER WALKING UP THE AISLE!

FATHER'S WALKING UP THE AISLE, PAT!

JAMES, THERE'S BILL WITH FATHER!

THERE'S BILL! HI, BILL! I SEE YOU WALKING UP THE AISLE!

JAMES, BILL IS TURNING PURPLE!

Gee whiz! Is this from Scrappleface or something?

I've never seen so much outright falsehood crammed into so little space. It must be some sort of record. One hardly even knows where to begin to refute it. I guess I'll just snicker at the poor man's ignorance (and pray for him, bless his heart!)

And thanks Huber for pinging me, I would have missed it otherwise. As the Aussies say, "Wouldn't be dead for quids!"

You're right, I erred when I said it was the night of the Lord's Resurrection (which was when He gave His Authority to the Apostles), it was actually some days later. Christ founded His Church on Peter's confession and then clarified things on the shore of Galilee.

Been meaning to tell you this for several comments now.......

STOP IT. STOP POSTING RIGHT NOW!!!!!

You are making me laugh, aloud, while I sit in the office by myself. My four year old keeps running in to see what mommy is laughing at. And she doesn't get it. And now she thinks I'm crazy, which totally undermines my authority. So knock it off, you are causing problems in my family.

And that goes for a whole bunch of you....one thing's for sure, Catholics/Orthodox have fantabulous senses of humor. Because, there's no way a slightly educated person is going to take this article seriously in any way, shape or form.

He forgot to include the forty-second thing that a Catholic learns when he opens a bible is that no-where is the Infant of Prague mentioned in the bible, and that the sixty-fourth thing that a Catholic learns is that NO-ONE sang Palestrina at the last supper and...

Sixty minutes is surely looking for someone like this Pastor to put on camera as a representative Christian.

Whenever I see the word Easter used I automatically think Passover.

It might be latent Quartodecemmianism, aka Mellito's disease. You better have that checked, but not by a doctor named "Constantine".

I think this Gospel applies to this article.

Gospel
Mt 5:20-26

Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you,
unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.

“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.
But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother
will be liable to judgment,
and whoever says to his brother, Raqa,
will be answerable to the Sanhedrin,
and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court.
Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge,
and the judge will hand you over to the guard,
and you will be thrown into prison.
Amen, I say to you,
you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”
