Freeper, Salvation, has just returned from a whirlwind tour of christian sites in the East. While I can only speak for myself, I am sure there are others who would like to learn more about where she traveled, as well as her experiences. While getting herself re-aclamated to US time, let's all welcome Salvation back home and to the FreeRepublic Forum. We are all indebted to you, Salvation, for your daily Mass Reading posts and the lives of the saints.
Please post your messages to this thread and let's hope Salvation will post her exciting experience to the forum.
Welcome Home!
Well, how was the harvest?
Welcome back!

Stories?

How nice of you to do this. I guess you knew how miserable I am here in Oregon. It was 98 Farenheit one day in Prague and we were all sweating to beat the band. I was expecting to come home to nice cool Oregon air, but let me compose something about my first day on the pilgrimage.
I don't have any photos -- only took along four disposable cameras and purchased two more. I will try to fill in my notes and describe, however.
Thanks for the greetings, everyone. And a big thank you to fatima and Coleuus for posting the daily readings while I was gone. Weren't they wonderful?
Take your time ... we're not going anywhere :-)
Welcome back!
I will certainly join in :) I would love to hear every last detail.
The first day was a travel day. I left Oregon at 6:10 am so that meant staying overnight in Portland, getting up around 3:00 am and to PDX by 4:00 to go through the international flight passporot stuff, etc.
There were six of us who left at that time and the others were spaced out during the day.
We arrived in Frankfurt via United at 6:07 pm and then took a local flight with Lufthansa to Prague. The tour guide was not there at the time we arrived so we took a local shuttle to our hotel. Fantastic driver took us on a scenic tour of Prague, crossing the median two times to avoid the traffic! What a riot! Finally got to our hotel at 12:30 pm their time. Long day -----no?
Others arrived around 3:00 pm., including our priest, Father Gary, and the final contingent arrived around 8:30 pm.
Dinner was on our own so we ate at the small cafe at the hotel -- all the water in the hotels was OK, but I was so apprehensive that I got water for the dispensing machine for one day -- three coins -- about 75 cents.
Our local tour coordinator's husband came down with the flu so they couldn't leave with us at 9:00 am for the walking tour of Prague.
(To be continued)
Thanks, mom!
Welcome home!
Please tell all...
I'm going downstairs to find my information, card pack, etc. about Prague. Back in a half hour or so to cover the first day.
Is there an emoticon for "I'm all ears"?
Tell it!
I think I'll do one or two days each day, depending on the length of the description.
Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome home! I look forward to reading up on your travels.
all ears?
Thanks for the warm greeting.
