Hey, I read somebody's prayer request in general chat, so I decided to post one in here. I've decided to enlist in the Marine Corps, gonna sign up tomorrow and take the medical physicals next week. I'm pretty nervous about it and request that you guys pray I'll check out fine medically, and that I'll make it through boot camp. Thanks everyone.
One word of advice. Assuming you're physically OK, and pass everything..before you report for boot camp..start running...everyday, twice a day...until you report...ideally you'll be able to run 5 miles twice a day under 45 minutes...learn to L-O-V-E running..
God bless you F&R!
Keep us posted, we'll be pulling for ya!
I'm praying for you - for whatever God has in his plan for you. Remember if it is "His" will....
You will be in my prayers. Like they said, start running, work out, and get ready. They'll take you under their wings before you even ship out. Listen to what they tell you and bless you for wanting to serve your country.
I was almost a Marine mom, but my son decided not to at the last moment (sigh). But you will be in my prayers.
Prayers for you! Don't worry - I know that when my son joined the Navy, he was pretty nervous the week before all the processing was to be done. And I bet everybody else who is going in with you is kinda shaky, too!
Best wishes and thank you for your committment. And thanks for asking your Freeper family for prayers. It's a pleasure to pray for somebody like you, who is asking for strength to do a great deed and undertake a challenge. May God bless you and keep you safe.
God bless you F&A - Thank you for what you are about to do. Your service is NOT taken for granted!
Thanks for the ping AZ - I'm posting a link to this thread in the Canteen!
Our family's prayers are with you, Free and Armed.
Just offering one's self up for service
is a gift to all America.
Peace be with you and yours.
Keep in touch. I'll be in the Canteen.
You have my prayers and my gratitude.
Good luck, God Bless, and congratulations. See Post 2, wear heavy boots and add weights to your feet.
Semper Fi!
As a past Marine myself I can only give you the same advice given to me before boot camp: Pay attention, do as you're told, and keep your mouth shut!
Don't worry, I made it, lots of recruits make it. The only way you will fail is if you give up.
Prayers for you, in the name of Christ.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you.
God bless you for your Service.
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Prayer Ping List.
Please post your prayers to Free and Armed;
May God keep you safe.
Prayers on the way, and thank you for your future service to our country!
Too late! Most of us already do!
I will remember you specifically in my prayers.
I pray that as Christian you carry the Christian Cross in every battle, and that the burden be light.
Our Lord be with you.
Learn everything you can. These are valuable years. You might just use what you learn in civilian life.
My son was a SeaBee in mid 1970s. He joined right at high school grad. He spent time in Diego Garcia and Rota Spain. Based on the duty and service type spent most ime with the Marines.
He finished at Oxnard and today has his own electical company. The service was an education.
BTW, he was involved with the failed recovery of the Iran hostages. One thing he said, he will never vote for a Democratic President.
