PROPHETIC SIGNS THAT WE ARE IN THE END TIMES [A good summary of SOME key evidences--QX]

The Bible gives many examples of signs that should warn us of the coming end of the age. Six such signs are given by Jesus, two characteristics are given by Paul, and eleven other occurrences are given by the prophets to occur prior to or soon after the end of the age. While we are also told we will not know the time of the End, God obviously wanted us to know when that time was getting closer. As the Christian church is increasingly drawn into the interfaith movement, and as more and more churches go into isolation, preparing to sleep through the growing attacks on their faith, perhaps God knew it would take a few signs to wake us up and remind us that we have work to do.

Unfortunately, many Christians take the verses that tell us we won't know the time of His coming to mean they should ignore any and all scripture that might warn us of this time of tribulation. Others have fallen into the trap of fearing being labeled a "conspiracy theorist" should they display an interest in the Biblical prophecies about our future on Earth. My philosophy is simple. God included it in the Bible and, since God is all knowing, we should trust that it is something we should know and study along with the rest of His Word.

It is increasingly obvious that the time of our Lord's coming is drawing near. Prophecy is being fulfilled daily, and at a faster pace than ever before. Whether you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, or believe Christians will be witness to the full tribulation, wrath, and final judgments, matters not. The beginning of birth pains and the signs of the times should have the same effect on all of us. It should motivate us to save as many souls as we can in the time that we have left. The Great Commission tells us to be disciples to all nations, bringing the message of salvation through Christ to all people. If the Church is raptured before the tribulation, it is important that we leave behind an explanation for the trials and judgments those left behind will face. How else will they recognize the deception of the anti-Christ and seek instead the truth of the Bible? If we are to endure the tribulation along side them, we will need to be prepared to not only share the message of salvation, but share with them the reasons for God's judgment and hold it up as further proof of their need to be saved.

Below is a study of the prophetic signs God gave us as a warning of the approaching end of the age. Many of them are being fulfilled now and many will be fulfilled in the near future. I would encourage you to study prophecy, know what is coming and be prepared to share it with others.

In Matthew24:3 Jesus was asked, "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?" Jesus told his apostles to look for the following signs prior to his second coming and the end of the age.

Matthew 24:5 "For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and will mislead many."

In the last several years many have claimed to be the Messiah. Jim Jones and David Koresh are examples of these false christs as well as countless others who are not as newsworthy. These false prophets are a prelude to the ultimate false christ, the antichrist. Many New Age groups, some even NGO's working for the United Nations, are anxiously awaiting the antichrist, preparing the way for his acceptance as the head of the hierarchy of gods and the one who will usher in world peace.

Matthew 24:6 "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end."

Rumors of wars in all areas of the world now occur frequently thanks to instant media coverage and the availability of a multitude of 24-hour news sources.

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

More people have been killed in warfare in this century than at any other time in history. As the death toll rises in the Middle East, more and more countries work feverishly to develop devastating weapons of mass destruction. Add to that the expanding threat of terrorism and unpredictable dictators such as Saddam Hussein, and the potential for the outbreak of war exists in nations, kingdoms and places across the globe.

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

As white, Christian farmers are driven out of Africa in increasing numbers, and foreigners move in to replace life-sustaining crops with poppies that now supply 25% of the worlds drugs, famine spreads across the African continent. The undernourished are not limited to Africa, however. A large portion of the worlds 5 billion people suffers from a shortage of food.

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

The number and intensity of earthquakes this century is at a level higher than any other time in history. A staggering number of seismic events occur around the world daily. The earthquake seismic monitor IRIS shows all major earthquakes for the last year. Indicated by yellow and red circles, the seismic events of the last 15 days provides strong evidence of the fulfillment of Matthew 24:7 in our day. By contrast, in the years from 1890 to 1900 there was only one major earthquake in the world.

Matthew 24:8-9 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name."

Christians are under attack throughout the world today. In the United States Christians still enjoy freedom to worship God without suffering much more than ridicule, hatred, or discrimination at work and school. However in many other countries such as China, Sudan, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Russia, and many Muslim nations, Christian suffer much greater persecution and often times death for their faith. During the tribulation this suffering will be worldwide and will continue even to the point of martyrdom. These first 5 signs will increase in intensity and severity as the tribulation approaches, much like the birth pangs or contractions of a pregnant woman worsen as the delivery time approaches.

Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."

This prophecy has already been fulfilled through television, radio, missionaries, the translation of the Bible into many languages, and the internet. People all over the world now hear the message of Christ from missionaries who have the means to travel the globe, and via technology that allows us to communicate with people on the other side of the world right from our own homes, churches and offices.

II Timothy 3:1-5,7 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

For anyone who has watched television, read a newspaper, lost a retirement to corporate greed and corruption, or just walked outside their front door, it is obvious this prophecy has been fulfilled by our generation. Our leaders are often corrupt; our cities are filled with crime, brutality, and neon signs proclaiming our sinful, godless nature. The New Age Movement brings in increasing numbers of mystics who claim to be the enlightened ones. They are some of the most educated and influential people in our societies, and yet the most lacking in real truth.

I Timothy 4:1-3 "But the spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. By means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth."

Churches today are becoming more and more ecumenical, embracing the New Age interfaith agenda, and denying Christ as the only way to salvation. Giving in to the politically correct media and a corrupt society, they have embrace homosexuality as an acceptable alternate lifestyle and preach tolerance and compromise in place of God's truth for the salvation of the world. The environmentalist movement within the New Age movement lures them into a worship of mother earth, belief in past lives, reincarnation, and Karma while demonizing all those who would eat the meat God gave us as nourishment for our bodies.

Revelation 9:16 "And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them."

An army of that size had never existed until China's army reached that number in the 1960's.

Daniel 2:32-33 "The head of the statue was made of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay."

Daniel 2:40-43 "Then there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; inasmuch as iron crushes and shatters all things, so like iron that breaks in pieces, it will crush and break all these in pieces. And in that you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have the toughness of iron, and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. And in that you saw the iron mixed with clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery."

The fourth kingdom of iron is the Roman empire according to Daniel's interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream. The two legs are the division of the Roman empire into an eastern portion called the Byzantine empire which ended in the 1400's and a western portion based in Rome which ended in the 400's. The nations of Europe since the Roman empire dissolved have never adhered or formed one empire but continue as separate nations, however, the European Union now has 15 Member States and is preparing for the accession of 13 eastern and southern European countries.

Zephaniah 3:9 "For then I will return to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent."

Prior to the restoration of Israel in 1948, Hebrew was a dead language. Now Hebrew is spoken throughout Israel.

4. REBUILDING OF THE TEMPLE, RESTORATION OF TEMPLE WORSHIP AND ANIMAL SACRIFICES IN JERUSALEM

For several end time prophecies to be fulfilled, the temple will have to be rebuilt.

Revelation 11:2 "Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the oly city for forty-two months."

Daniel 9:27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolation, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

Daniel 9:26 "Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary."

Some archeologists believe that the temple mount is actually 340 feet south of the Dome of the Rock site, putting the Dome of the Rock within the Court of the Gentiles. This may be the court outside the temple that is left out.

There are many groups already working on preparations for the new temple. The blueprints are already done, the temple garments have been made, and there have already been attempts to lay the cornerstone of the temple. The only thing standing in the way of the construction of the new temple is Islam's third holiest site, the Dome of the Rock and government support for such an undertaking. Some possible scenarios for the rebuilding of the temple are as follows:

1. The persuasion and performing of miracles by the Antichrist and False Prophet convinces the Islamic world to approve the rebuilding.

2. The United Nations will negotiate the rebuilding of the temple following a war with the armies from the North (Russia and Islamic forces). This assumes that the war with the armies from the North is not the battle of Armageddon as some feel and that this attack occurs before the rapture or tribulation period begins. The supernatural destruction of the Russian army and Islamic forces will cause an outpouring of Christian worship and zeal amongst the Jewish people who will reconstruct the temple.

3. It is determined that the site of the first two temples is actually south of the Dome of the Rock, and the court of the gentiles (Dome of the Rock) will be left out of the 3rd temple.

A group in Israel called the Temple Mount Faithful have obtained most of the clothing, instruments and other equipment required for temple worship and are actively preparing for the laying of the third temple's cornerstone.

Numbers 19:2-7 "This is the statute of the law which the Lord has commanded, saying, "Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring you an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect and on which a yoke has never been placed. "You shall give it to Eleazar the priest, and it shall be brought outside the camp and be slaughtered in his presence. Next Eleazar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle some of its blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times. "Then the heifer shall be burned in his sight; its hide and its flesh and its blood, with its refuse, shall be burned. "The priest shall then wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterward come into the camp, but the priest shall be unclean until evening."

A red heifer will be required to be used in the process of purification described in the book of Numbers. In May 1997 the first Red Heifer was born in 2000 years. Another red Heifer was born in Israel in March of 2002.

Daniel 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase."

Billy Graham was quoted as saying, "ninety percent of all the engineers and scientists who have ever lived are alive today." Air travel, space travel, DNA research and human cloning are all examples of the rapid increase in knowledge in our generation.

Zephaniah 3:10-11 "From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, My dispersed ones, will bring My offerings. In that day you will feel no shame because of all your deeds by which you have rebelled against Me; For then I will remove from your midst your proud, exulting ones, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain."

In 1984, Operation Moses saw the airlift of 15,000 Jews who had already fled to refugee camps in Sudan to escape starvation. In 1991, Operation Solomon flew 20,000 Jews to Israel from Ethiopia itself. A further airlift began in June of 1999, aimed at transporting the last 3,000 members of the Quara Jewish community from northeastern Ethiopia to Israel.

Ezekiel 38:2,4,8 "Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords. After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them."

In order for some end time events to occur Russia will have to be a strong nation with a strong military.

Jeremiah 23:7-8 "Therefore behold, the days are coming declares the Lord, when they will no longer say, as the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, but as the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I have driven them. Then they will live on their own soil."

In the 1970's and 1980's there was a mass exodus of Russian Jews out of Communist Russia. In 1999 the Associated Press reported a dramatic increase in the number of Jewish immigrants from Russia, bringing the largest number of Russian Jews to Israel since the early 1990's.

Revelation 13:16-17 "And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name."

On May 10, three members of a family in Florida became the first people to receive the biochip implant. Each device, made of silicon and called a VeriChip, is a small radio transmitter about the size of a piece of rice that is injected under a person's skin. It transmits a unique personal ID number whenever it is within a few feet of a special receiver unit. VeriChip's maker describes it as "a miniaturized, implantable, radio frequency identification device (RFID) that can be used in a variety of security, emergency and healthcare applications."

Is the biochip the mark of the beast to be used by the antichrist? We can't really know. What is significant is that people are being softened to the idea of a mark or an implant as a means of maintaining security, providing medical information, and regulating a more interdependent world. As attitudes change, fears subside, and people are convinced of the need for such a mark, the true mark of the beast will be easily introduced to the world by the antichrist.

The United Nations, World Trade Organization, International Criminal Court, UN peacekeeping/police force, numerous UN NGO's, and other agencies are preliminary steps to the formation of a one world government. We now have the communications technology, transportation, and the pro-globalization media necessary to usher in the one world government headed by the antichrist. The increasing terrorist threat and the middle east conflict will only speed up the formation of this governing body as fear and promises of better security make more people willing to give up their national sovereignty for global governance.

Revelation 11:3, 7-10 "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophecy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth."

Television and the 24-hour news networks make it possible for people around the world to see the dead prophets and rejoice at their deaths.

Luke 21:28 "But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Luke 21:32 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place."

HERE'S AN INTERESTING PROPHECY!

I have long felt strongly in my inner person that Iraq SHOULD be divided. But I haven't known for certain if it would be. I sort of 50-75% expected it. We shall see.

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY DISCERNMENT those gifted in such matters might have regarding this prophecy. Naysayers need not expect a reply.

I Will Divide Iraq

November 20, 2004 - Last week, the Lord gave me a word that I felt was appropriate for you to review. I was at the Aglow International Conference.

I awoke on Friday morning, November 12, the day after Arafat's death. As I began my morning prayers, the Lord interrupted me with this statement, "I will divide Iraq."

As you can imagine, I was struck with such a statement. I began praying and asking God what He meant by that. I felt like the Lord led me to the obvious passage in Daniel 5:

Daniel 5:25-28

25 "And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians." (NKJV)

As I prayed about it, I felt that God was simply saying Baghdad's rule over that area of the world is coming to an end.

"BAGHDAD HAS CONFOUNDED THE NATIONS...BUT I HAVE JUDGED THE PRINCE OF IRAQ"

What He said was...

"Baghdad has confounded the nations. Baghdad has confounded the leaders of the world. Baghdad has confounded America, and even confounded my people. Baghdad has confounded the President, but I have judged the Prince of Iraq, and I, the Lord, will divide his country and give it to those more worthy. The Kurds will get a state. They will quickly normalize relations with Israel. This will mark of the first small visible fulfillment of Isaiah 19. The more moderate Arab states will follow in this in a variety of ways, and Israel shall have a short season of increased legitimacy."

I asked the Lord, "What about verse 28, where it talks about dividing between the Medes and Persians? Does that apply now?"

God responded and said that the Kurds are the current day Medes, and that both the Persians and the Southern Iraqis are Shiites. So, in that sense, the kingdom is to be divided between the Medes and the Persians. The Lord went on to say that the death of Arafat is a new beginning. We will see the raising up of more moderate Palestinian voices and the wall will be finished. Just as Arafat died on 11/11, so as Isaiah 11:11 states that the Lord will raise His hand the second time for Israel.

This is a window of opportunity for peace, and God will not allow the ungodly railings of the few in Baghdad to thwart His plans and purposes.

THE ALTAR

This vision happened during a very anointed time of praise and worship at the local church I attend.

I saw a cross standing by itself, tall and strong. It was in a deserted place with large boulders and a scattering of high desert plants. The still air was permeated with a soft pulsating love. It enveloped the landscape, seeking out the dry and lonely crevices and gullies. Love literally wrapped everything in its tender arms.

Then I saw the head of the LION OF ZION, sitting before the cross. His love lit up His beautiful amber eyes, and a gentle, sweet love looked out at me through His gentle eyes. A crown of gold appeared on His head, sparkling with large, multi-colored, exquisite jewels.

I saw a gravel road wind its way to the cross, and instinctively I knew I was to walk the road towards my King and His cross. As I approached the road He spoke:

“MOST OF MY CHILDREN DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT THE JOURNEY BEGINS WITH THE CROSS—THERE IS NO OTHER WAY. EACH OF THEM MUST DIE TO SELF SO THAT I CAN LIVE THROUGH THEM.

THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL.

I AM NOT A FEEL GOOD GOD.

I AM A RIGHTEOUS AND LOVING GOD.

I AM HOLY.

Then a stone altar appeared under the cross, made of boulders and rocks piled on top of each other. He asked me to climb onto the altar and let my flesh die, to willingly sacrifice my life and my desires so that He might live through me.

I climbed onto the altar and prayed that my flesh would die upon this altar, that my will would be obedient to His will, that my tongue would somehow die and be silenced of all things that were not of and from Him.

As I was praying and repenting the LION walked over and looked at me lying on the altar. His face was level with my face, His eyes pierced into the depths of my soul.

“COME!” He commanded.

I found my Spirit rising from my flesh body. My flesh still lay on the altar, my Spirit Being was dressed in a gorgeous purple gown. On my head was a gold princess hat (or conical hat) with a white veil, like those worn by ladies in medieval times. I approached the LION and climbed onto His back. I looked back and saw my flesh lying lifelessly on the altar at the foot of the cross.

Again He spoke, “THE JOURNEY BEGINS AT THE CROSS, IT DOES NOT END THERE.”

He turned and began striding down the gravel path. Again He spoke:

“WHEN YOU HAVE DIED TO SELF, THEN I CAN SEND YOU BACK TO A SICK AND DYING WORLD. YOU CAN BE MY HANDS AND MY FEET—MY EXTENSIONS OF MERCY.

OH MY CHILDREN, COME TO THE CROSS AND DIE, SO THAT YOU MAY EXTEND MY KINDNESS AND COMPASSION TO THE LOST AND LONELY.

YOU HAVE BEEN SOOOO DISTRACTED OF LATE. COME! COME!

I HAVE GREAT NEED OF SURRENDERED SERVANTS WHO WILL BE KNOWN FOR THEIR LOVE AND KINDNESS AND MERCY.

I NEED GENTLE ONES WHOSE TONGUES HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED AND REFINED IN THE FIRE—WHOSE WORDS ARE WORDS OF LIFE TO THOSE WHO ARE DYING AND LOST.”

As I road down the path on His back, we came to a place that overlooked a city. Smoke was rising from multiple places within the city.

He spoke again, “I AM NOT TAKING YOU OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I NEED YOU IN THE WORLD TO CARRY MY GLORY, TO CARRY MY MERCY, AND TO CARRY MY GRACE.”

He continued carrying me towards the smoke and confusion as the vision faded away.

Take No Thought For Tomorrow

Take no thought for tomorrow. Take not your eyes from My face, but remain close to Me. I, alone, know what tomorrow will bring, so trust Me to bring you through it’s course. It is vital that you remain close and listening to My Voice. So many of Mine, are running to and fro, with every news alert and fresh spin, to get their daily information. Why do they not inquire of Me, and ask Me what is needed for today?

There truly is a famine of the Word in the land, and so few come to Me to find the answers they need. So many no longer seek Me out or read My Word anymore. They no longer accept it as Truth, or as My Voice and My Plan for them, and only leave it on their shelves to decay while they run after men. So much is now brought to nothing, as they drink from clouded waters and broken cisterns that contain no life, but only carnal wisdom. Such is the folly of men.

Many cry out to Me, that they cannot hear My Voice, or discern that I am with them. If they came to Me, and spent time with Me, they would surely know Me. I never turn away from Mine who seek Me. Men turn to worshipping themselves and their works rather than acknowledging Me as their Creator and God. So, many perish from a lack of knowledge, and never fully enter in to a relationship with Me, and never become changed into My Image. So, they are like their father, the devil, whom they choose, when they reject Me, and go their own ways.

Take no thought for tomorrow.

It will surely come.

It will surely disclose all things.

It will surely reveal all that I have told you in My Word, and by My Holy Spirit.

All that I have shown you, and said to you, and prepared you for, will come. So many scoff, and say, where are the prophesied signs? Where are the disasters? Where are the upheavals and the trials? I say to them, where is your fear of Me?

I hear their hearts, and they have already determined their fates, by rejecting Me, my Love, My Longsuffering, and My Grace. I have said that the Day of the Lord would be a time of great distress and darkness and not to be desired. For the suffering will be great and the loss of life will be great, and multitudes will go to hell.

Men scoff and look for this all to happen and get mad when these things don’t occur, and don’t realize it is My Grace that holds back for my Children to come to Me, and they are without regard for their brethren, or their own souls, and never care for anything but their egos.

Where is the fear of Me in My House? It will now be manifested, for I am tired of selfish men dictating to Me how I will do things in the days to come, and when I will return, and how I will bring forth My Word. I will repay.

I will repay every scoffer, mocker, and devourer of My Word, My Name, and My People.

I hold every tomorrow in My Hands.

I will bring them forth as I have shown you in My Word. I will repay, and I will do so without further delay. I will bring justice amongst My People, and defend My Own. I will bring forth My Truth and My Justice, and bring all who oppose Me, down.

I desire Truth.

I desire Mercy.

I desire Justice.

I desire Holiness.

There is very little being shown in the earth. Men run after their gods.

Mine have run into Me, and will be rewarded for their desire to be as Me. For I am repaying all men for their deeds and tomorrow will show the results.

Today has passed and tomorrow now dawns, and men will account for their words and deeds, and bear the fruit of them swiftly.

Preparation

I was awoken suddenly one night to the sound of what I thought was the alarm. I immediately got my towel and headed for the shower, thinking it was morning. Unbenounced to me, it was only 1am in the morning and I had only been asleep for close to two hours. I should have realised it was night but I didn't. For example, in our house we have massive glass doors leading to outside which I had to pass, so I should have known it was night time. However, by the time I realised I was in the shower. When I finally realised it was dark and my instant reaction was "what am I doing up?" Within a split second after I realised it was not my alarm clock that had woken me but it was the Lord. I saw a picture of an angel, approximately 5 feet tall blowing a trumpet in my ear. I realised as well that at the time I was dreaming of angels blowing trumpets and I had woken up being startled. If it had been my alarm I would not have been startled, because I am use to my alarm clock. Straight away the Lord spoke to me "purify yourself for I want to talk with you." Instantly the fear of the Lord struck me and from then continued all night. The only way I could describe this is like a trembling in spirit, which to some degree was also making me tremble in my body as well.

I got out of the shower and went straight to my room and looked at my alarm clock. It was still set for 8am in the morning. It definitely had not gone off. Straight away in the spirit I saw the angel and he smiled at me. Without actually speaking to me, he basically communicated to me, "you need to go quickly to the prayer room for the Lord is waiting." Perhaps I just knew this as soon as I saw the angel, I am not sure.

As soon as I was in the Prayer room (I live with another intercessor and our lounge room was used usually once a day for prayer & worship), I opened the Bible to the book of revelations chapter 8 and began reading about the seven trumpets. I felt it was significant that I had been woken up by the sound of a trumpet blast.

What I noticed about reading the chapter was this: The first six trumpets were not in anyway nice, but at the end if the chapter there is a reason given why these things happened.

Revelation 8:20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by the plagues STILL did not repent of the work of their hands, they did not stop worshipping demons, the idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood - idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality, or their thefts."

Straight away, I felt the voice of the Lord saying to me, "we are entering a new season."

Part 1: Mayhem in North Brisbane Suddenly I had a vision. I was in the same house, in a suburb in a city called Redcliffe, which is just north of Brisbane. There was a few of us in the house, and we were crammed together in a room as if we were afraid of something. I could hear lots of commotion.

Suddenly I was looking at the street from the top of our roof. What I saw was devastating.

It was like rioting. There were people going into houses, smashing down the doors and windows, trying to get inside in order that they could loot, murder, rape or pillage. There were people running everywhere, as if chaos, but one lady in particular I can still remember watching. Her front door had been broken down and people were still inside her house looting it. She was outside trying to run for life, but behind her was a demon who was tormenting her. The demon had his hands on her shoulders and was tormenting her and laughing, because she was trying to get free in order to run, but he was simply playing with her. She could not get away. But where was she going to run to anyway? In desperateness she was trying to get somewhere for shelter, but the situation was the same in every single place in the street. In fact the only place that hadn't yet been attacked was our house. People were running away from people who were trying to kill them, others were still looting, there was shouting, screaming and the sound of car alarms going off. I saw one woman clearly but out of the corner of my eyes I could see all the rest of this going on.

The vision changed back to the house. All five people had retreated to the back of our house into what was then was my bedroom, and were kneeling and desperately praying. It was all we could do. Pray and hope no one enters the house. That somehow they bypass the house. I never saw anyone enter our house and at this point the vision changed.

Before I explain the next vision, I get two senses about that vision. One is the demon was actually a person, but I saw what was going on the spirit. In other words it was a demonically driven person who was tormenting the woman, and he was part of a demonically driven army or group of people who were reeking havoc. The Lord did not reveal whether this was an invasion, civil war or rioting over an issue. Honestly God did not reveal this. They reminded me almost of pirates and the scene was much like scenes from movies where pirates move in on a town and destroy it.

The other sense I got was that this was not just Redcliffe. I doubt it just Brisbane, or south-east Queensland either. I did not see anywhere past my street, but I get the impression this was not one off.

Part 2: Melbourne under attack

Again the vision changed. I saw a picture of the night sky over a city being lit up with green flashes as missiles were hitting the city. It was as though I was looking at the television pictures through night vision, of an air-raid on a city. It reminded me of some the pictures I had seen during desert storm. At the time there were tensions building up again between Iraq and the United States. So my immediate thought was "this is Bagdad" and I looked down at my paper ready to write it. However in an instant, I knew in my whole being that this was not an overseas city. It was an Australian city. It was Melbourne.

Like some of the people who received visions in the Bible, immediately after seeing both visions I became worried in spirit. Like Daniel I was terrified. But this was no spirit of fear. I wasn't scared of my own safety, just worried for my nation. I immediately went to prayer and pleaded before God for my nation. I had never thought or imagined this could happen in my nation, and I was scared for the nation. The entire night I kept getting a word "an army from the north." I will make you aware though that I had previously heard second hand that someone had prophesied an invasion from the north. So I had heard this sometime before.

I stayed up all night as my mind was worried and I said to the Lord that he needed to confirm this to me. That morning for the first time I began watching some of the Christian shows from approximately 4:30am. The first show I saw was on Biblical prophecy. I turned it on and about 10 seconds after I turned it on, the host began talking about the Prophet Joel, and reading from Joel 1:5- 12. This to me was confirmation. Again Benny Hinn was on, and whilst I can't quite remember his exact wording, in one of his prayers he specifically mentioned words that became a confirmation to me.

Conclusion

I wrote what had happened on paper at the time. The date I am writing into the computer is the 4th of November 2004. In other words it has taken me a year and a half to write this. This is the first vision I have held onto to test whether it is the Lord. I believe that it was the Lord who visited me that night, and whilst he never gave any real application to the vision, the fact that God showed me revelations 8:20 first and the reason for the trumpet blasts, suggests to me that repentance is a key. I cannot speak what I have not heard, and I cannot say what I have not seen, thus I have tried to recount everything I have seen with as much detail as possible. I honesty don't know whether these events are set in concrete and cannot be changed, or whether by repentance they can be averted. As one person said to me recently it was like a glimpse into the future.

Matthew 24:42-44: Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

When does a thief come upon you? As a police officer, I can tell you it most often takes place when you least expect it, when you're least prepared for it --- while you're asleep. So it will be for the world when Christ comes to Rapture His Church!

As I look at everything taking place in the world today, screaming to us Christ's return is coming in the not-too-distant future, as I'm about to demonstrate yet again, I find it absolutely disturbing how few people (many of them Christians no less) realize how similar the world we're living in today is to the world described in the end times prophecies of the Bible!

How close is our world to the end times world described in Bible prophecy? Close and getting closer by the day! Let's look at a few examples currently in the news.

The EU is playing peacemaker

An EUBusiness.com article reports the European Union is calling on its Middle East partners, including Israel, to work together to make a success of January's planned Palestinian leadership election in order to breathe new life into Quartet's roadmap to peace process.

Dr. Javier Solana, foreign policy chief of the EU, is quoted in the article as saying, "We, collectively and individually, must help the Palestinian people to succeed in their transition to a new direction. Everyone will be a winner: there will be more security for the Israelis and Palestinians, and more stability for the whole of our region and beyond."

Interestingly, Bible prophecy tells us the European Union will be the final empire to rule the world prior to the return of Jesus Christ (Daniel, chapters 2 and 7).

We're further told the event that will mark the beginning of the final seven-year period of human history before Christ's visible, physical, bodily return to the earth (not to be confused with the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church) will be a peace treaty between Israel and her enemies seven years in length (Daniel 9:26-27).

The man who will somehow confirm this covenant --- the Antichrist --- will, in all likelihood, come from within the EU itself as he will become its leader.

Solana and others involved in the peace process, as seen above and as I've documented in the past, are promising security and stability in the Middle East, precisely what we've been told would be being said prior to everything falling apart for unrepentant mankind.

1st Thessalonians 5:3: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

According to a Jerusalem Post article, Israel is only a word or two away from reaching an agreement that will give it many of the same rights afforded states within the European Union. The question in my mind is this: Are the two words peace agreement? If so, the Church may be heading home soon.

100 million could die from bird flu! The World Health Organization, according to an ABC article, is making the dire prediction that the bird flu virus could kill up to 100 million people around the world!

We're told there will be pestilences during the end times, as well as told the beasts of the earth will play a role in a quarter of mankind dying in the early Tribulation Period. Could bird flu, a virus that could become transmittable from bird to human, be an example of this? The more I hear about the potential bird flu has to be a global killer, the more convinced I become it could well be!

Matthew 24:7-8: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.

Revelation 6:8: And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Turkey's courtship of the EU going nowhere fast In the 38th chapter of Ezekiel, we see all the nations named that will someday gather together in a military alliance to attack the nation of Israel in the prophetic future in an event most refer to as the Gog-Magog invasion. Among those who will attack, in the opinion of many noted biblical scholars, is modern day Turkey.

Turkey, in case you've never heard, is trying to get into the European Union. In a 10-6-04 commentary, I wrote the following, concerning Turkey's hopes of joining the EU:

This leads us to a question: If a leader from the revived Roman empire has brought peace to Israel, why would Turkey - if Turkey is a member of the European Union at the time - attack Israel? My suspicion? Something is going to go terribly wrong between the EU and Turkey, although I'm left to wonder what. Consider the following excerpts from an EU Observer article dated 11-30-04, in light of this:

Turkey may have to agree to some tough conditions before EU member states agree to go ahead and open membership negotiations.

Earlier this month, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that Turkey should not join the EU "at any cost". Could a breakup between these two oddly-paired lovebirds be on the way? Oh yes! Just hide and watch!

Surprise! We can't trust Iran!

As reported by an MSNBC article, Iran isn't stopping enriching the uranium it needs to build nuclear weapons forever, as the EU seems to think. In fact, they're only going to stop long enough to "negotiate" with the EU, which is slang for continuing their nuclear weapons program.

Along with Turkey, Iran is going to play a role in the Gog-Magog invasion of Ezekiel 38 in the future when Iran will join Russia and an Arab alliance in a massive attack on Israel.

Interestingly, but not surprisingly, Russia is currently, according to a Xinhuanet article, thrilled the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) isn't going to refer Iran to the United Nations Security Council for a decision on Iran's nuclear program. Again, everything is lining up --- perfectly.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

In spite of all these issues of prophetic significance in the news, mankind, for the most part, is spiritually asleep. A sleepy world that has forgotten its God has its bed covers pulled tightly over its head at three minutes until midnight!

As world events are clearly demonstrating, in my humble opinion, it's only a matter of time before the Lord, much like a thief in the night comes looking for treasure, comes looking for the world's treasure --- its light, the Church.

The countdown to the Lord's return continues. Tick tock! Tick tock!
