He was banned, apparently, for flying into the flame. If a Mod tells you to knock it off, you don't go around mocking them, unless you are prepared to face the consequences.

I don't see here anything like the animosity the Calvinists show towards the Mormons. Even between Reggie and I there is a certain amount of respect, which is totally lacking on that other thread.

We have made persons and friends out of the "enemy."

Look at how quickly they shut down the "passion" thread the other day.

It happened because the "mods" were called in. The "old timers" on this thread are not in the "abuse button" habit and I think that is why we usually escape the "judge".

The only time I take real exception is when a "Christian Monarchist" tells me I should be put to death as a heretic and you defend him.

In most instances I am simply exercising my right to be contrary while you are exercising your right to be perverse. ;-)

I have never lost any sleep over anything I've seen in print on this forum.

I defended his statements in a historical context. Not in a present or future tense. I don't consider it perverse to try to understand history in context.

I don't want to get into a flame war with you but I wish you would think about this. Sometimes it seems awfully close to worship to me with "Calvin this and Calvin that" and now WWCD? How can Calvinists show this man such devotion and then give the catholics a hard time about Mary ,their pope...

Not long ago I said something to Dave on another thread that I have said many times on this thread. It resulted in a "be nice" letter from the mod.

I think we are ok on this thread as we are. We get an occassional flamer who trys to start trouble and then runs away but we do a decent self policing job. I think.

Now, on the shut down thread I was talking about, there was a series of nothing but ad hominem attacks from three or four non-NC's who thrive on their hate, personal attacks, and lies while patting each other on their backs. (I think you know who they are). Lets just hope they don't come here.
