For the second time.

Rush felt that McNabb was getting kudos from the press for the TEAMS success that for large part belonged to the DEFENCE.

Whether McNabb is a good quarterback or not is imaterial to this opinion. What is material however is why the press might do that. A fan cares! Especially if they are fans of the Eagles Defence. Therefore pointing out that one reason the media seems content to give McNabb all the credit, as opposed to sharing it, is they want to promote black quarterbacks regardless of the truth.

But what about the black defensive players? Rush's remarks defend them. The media likes to ignore black defensive players. In fact the only defensive player in the whole league they like to talk about is the very white (and good) Urlacher.

Can't you see how this is not about McNabb at all?

Definitely can't you see how this is not racist at all?

In fact Rush was promoting the accomplishments of many black (and white) players here and expressing a disappointment that one quarterback was getting all the credit mostly because he was black. Donovan could be having the best season ever, and it is still a valid point. The defense at philly contributes more!

Did you see Mcnabb today. What a crybaby! His feeling are hurt? We are turning into a nation of wussies.
The fact that libs can still destroy people like this should signal that they are still a formidable foe.

Isn't this a tacit admission of guilt, whether or not he BELIEVES he erred?

Not at all. It just demonstrates the intolerance of the party that preaches tolerance. They don't really have any.

And speaking of media darlings...how about the issue of black coaches: team owners HAVE to interview at least one black coach for a head coaching position whether they want to (or feel they are qualified) or not! What kind of crap is THAT???

Rush has been pointing this out all the time on his radio program. He comes from the point of view that it is degrading, and I agree!!

Rush was right.

Kordell Stewart sucked big time on Pittsburgh yet the media pretended the guy was very good. He was the worst. I believe the same was going on with McNabb. It was so obvious.

The obvious response is for all reasonable fans to boycott NFL stadiums but of course that will not happen.

.. they screech too, and say some things which could be put into a script. Or are they droning from a script? If so, badly so. Mystery Science Fiction Theater -- should "diversify". Some great minds really could do a "Political Science Fiction Threater" 2000-2003. And make big bucks. Oh what a hoot!

maybe this will make ncnabb a better qb. He was fantastic and gutsy at Syracuse, and got a great education. The media in the nfl did baby him,but he let them. The media are probably hurting his chances of going from a good qb to a great one. Anyone that has ever listened to sports talk radio knows the constant bitching and bellyaching and over the top railing against ANY athlete that is not a freaking robot. I stopped listening to those weenies.

I believe Campanis MEANT to say blacks were not getting front office jobs because there weren't yet enough blacks with the necessary experience to get those jobs, which was true at the time. It simply came out all wrong ("they lack the necessities") and he was branded a racist goon and ostracized until his death. His obituary was pretty much entirely about one incident where he phrased something awkwardly. This is a much better example of a vicious unfair media backlash and subsequent firing than the Rush incident.

You're right, of course. And those who thought him racist were not about to have their minds changed, anyway, even if Rush fellated McNabb on live TV.

Oh man, I am gonna be rootin' against McNabb BIG time!
Funny thing is, I always thought he was overrated from his very first start, and even more so after last year's loss in the NFC Championship!
This is COOL--now I have someone else to root against besides the (F)aiders!

True. McNabb should have stepped up and had some class. The remarks were not about him. Yet all he could hear was the word 'black' and off he went. He refused to accept an apology from Rush. For WHAT? Rush did not direct any comments towards McNabb. McNabb is an idiot and a trouble maker, besides being a crappy QB.

You aer the one who can not tell the difference. Forced interviews based on race is a very debateable subject. Saying that the only reason a player is popular is because he is black is just idiotic. You, of course, will cliam he did not say that. I can use my brain and get 2 from 1 plus 1. He said 'The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well' and then follows that up with(damn I can't find it right now, but I'll paraphrase) - And I never thought he was that good to begin with. So 1 and 1 equals = I think he is popular becasue he is black. Which is stupid if you look at the crap Randall Cunningham had to put up with thru his career.

McNauseous sucks, he's overrated, if he hadn't come into the league with a team that emphasized defense, o-line play and special teams, he would have never won more than 6 games a year QBing anyone. He got the contract and continues to get the breaks because he has DARK SKIN in Philly! Period!! Stuff that in your PC pipe and take a hit.

Say high to david duke for me you typical Cowboys fan. It must kill you that a(as you say) Dark Skin is QBing your team now.

McNabb apparently was making a few choice comments today. But for McNabbs own racist ego stupidity, i would have agreed with you.

I just read his comments on the ESPN site and he said in a nutshell that he was surprised that no one countered Rush's remarks and that if it had been made my a cameraman it would not have mattered. I copied and pasted that comment to my email to ESPN and stated that I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED (aka daschele)BY MCNABBS INSENSITVE COMMENTS ABOUT CAMERAMEN, AND THAT HIS UNCONCERN ABOUT CAMERAMENS OPINIONS WERE OBVIOUS RACISM.

That does it. I have no respect for Limbaugh now.

Rush has the guts to go out on a limb and speak what he thinks. I respect him for that. No one knows the circumstances as to why he resigned but you can rest assured, you haven't heard the last from Rush on this.

This is exposing the left for what they are. It's not all bad. Rush went to the mat over the media. Read his comment again.

This ain't over by a long shot.

even if Rush was just wrong in what he said,

That's the thing -- he couldn't be wrong. He offered no quantifiable facts, only opinion. There are no wrong opinions. I wish all the conservative media people (all two of them) would band together and deliberately say provocative things that are clearly not racist, and dare their employers to fire them. It would have to be on live, non-tape-delayed TV, though. Only way to be sure it would be seen by anyone.

Maybe that's a dumb idea. I'm just really angry and not thinking straight.

"with his claim that McNabb is only considered good because he is black. "

Now you are putting words in his mouth. Rush did not say that.

Rush is concerned with race. He very much would like every black person to get the credit for the hard work they put in. Not credit for merely being black.

You can see this as he defends Rice and Powell from accusations of being uncle toms.

You can see it when he expresses concern over black coaches becomming the pawns of the NFL.

You can see it when he defends the Eagles defensive players, many of whom are black, because they aren't getting the credit they deserve because the media decides to give all the credit to their quarterback to promote their own misguided agendas.

Rush believes in giving merit where it is earned equally, not on the basis of race.

He was promoting a lot of black players with his thoughts.
