There is another thread with his statement. See #16 of this same thread.

There you go!! You hit it right on the head. If you are conservative, don's mention the word black!!!!!
So we should be quite and shut up, and never fight back, right?
To: longtermmemmory
There is a double standard of politicial correctness in the media. A white guy like John Rocker will be vilified for making dumb racial comments, but black athletes can make similar remarks with minimal attention from the media.
Having said that, Rush's opinion on McNabb was very questionable, at best, in regard to whether he is overrated or not. There certainly wasn't enough (or any) evidence that he was getting preferential treatment because of his race.
Big error in judgement by Rush. He should have known the left-wingers were ready to pounce on something like when he was out of his element on NFL Countdown.

What he said was stupid, but I'm amazed he's resigning over it. Although he was just stating his opinion, it was ugly and vulgar. There was no call for him to make the accusation that he did.
To: rdb3
McNabb apparently was making a few choice comments today. But for McNabbs own racist ego stupidity, i would have agreed with you.

How did the people here feel when the Dixie Chicks got beat down and Peter Arnett lost his job?

You are so right.
At least there will be one good thing to come out of this: Rush will now be able to go full-bore against the left.
I think they've unleashed the tiger...

Pro-Bowls are a measure of talent...there are so many factors to getting to the Pro-Bowl. If was a measure of talent alone, then why did no Tennessee Titan get in last year? Not even Steve McNair.

ESPN's new show "Playmakers", which shows the disgusting side of football I was stupid enough to 'watch' an episode of that. It's edited like a freakin' Sportscenter plays-of-the-week montage. It was the episode where half of the players had serious injuries, and the other half had marital infidelity, spousal abuse, promiscuity, and drug abuse issues. Of course, I have a feeling that sums up the entire series.

I'll remain a proud 24/7 member of Rush's website but I am very disappointed in him right now. I think he caved for no good reason.
To: flaglady47
I think Rush could actually start a "League of His Own". To hellen's house with the NFL.

Yes, Dusty Baker's comments this summer come to mind about black players being more equiped to handle hot weather. The media spent a day on it and moved on.

I'm like you. I can't wait to hear what Rush has to say tomorrow.
McNabb is a good quarterback but not great. He was mighty in college but mediocre in the NFL. He didn't win the big games and this year he stinks.
But, I'll turn off the NFL in a heartbeat if this is just a liberal game. I got the NFL pass and it will be off at my house without a second thought.
(I will be watching my Hokies though and I'll miss watching my man Vick.)

I think the best way to fight back would be to not watch or attend the football games.
