Most of the sports writers are lefties. Probably because they are jealous and envious of pro athletes and envy is rampant on the left. Excellent point, that deserves repeating.

NO, commonsense won this time. Rush bringing up the FORCED race based interviewing process for head coaching positions in the NFL, great. Claiming that the MAIN reason(since rush claims McNabb isn't even an average QB) McNabb is so popular is because he is black, no way. McNabb had better numbers(TDs, INTs, yards, total TDs - all except completion %) than Aikman when Aikman won those three superbowls. McNabb has below average players around him, while aikman had Irvin, Novacek, emmitt. I guess when Aikman gets inducted into the Hall of fame, he'll apologize and tell rush he is sorry because he was such a bad QB.
Rush is full of shit. I remember quite well all of Randall Cunningham's career. He was blasted for no reason simply because he WAS a black QB. The media still gives Vick and McNabb back handed complements by calling them great atheletes and not QBs. If Rush was sooooo football knowledgeable as you ditto heads claim, then he would know that Andy reid(the WHITE coach) had only called 21 run plays in the first two losses by the Eagles. But why let a little football sneak into a little race baiting by Rush. What an idiot.
This has nothing to do with the issue. The issue is not that he is right or wrong about McNabb. The issue is that he should be able to say that he is black, and that the media favors reporting of them. Not if he is right or wrong.

Venting at McNabb is stupid. He's a competitor, so when someone says he is overrated, what is he supposed to do, just roll over and accept that? Even without the racial angle being thrown in, I don't blame him for responding negatively.

It is amazing that many of those with black skin (D McNabb and D Williams)--and the wacked-out Democrat/Liberal/Socialists--are so thin-skinned and paranoid. If any conservative says anything about the color of their skin, they immediately go into convulsions and scream "racist" involuntarily!!! What a bunch of weak, immature, self-absorbed babies. Rush was just saying what most people already know--the media does, indeed, continue to focus on skin color, always pointing out how this or that black person is "intelligent" or has finally made it out of the hood and a bad past. Enough already!!! We are tired of it!

and rush has not appologized or tried to take it back. He may have resigned but he has stuck by his opinion.
I for one will not buy anything McNabb endorses. His ESPN interview only proves he IS overated and he is given a pass BECAUSE he is black.

I think what they did was express an unpopular opinion and abused the position that they had as entertainers. They brought politics when they should have been singing.
Rush made the same mistake... He should have been talking about sports... Politics and race should have been left in the parking lot...
As a conservative, I am more offended by what the Dixie Chicks did because I thought their timing was bad and I thought they did a lot of hit and run but they like Rush, prefer to voice their opinion when they control the mike...

Claiming that the MAIN reason(since rush claims McNabb isn't even an average QB) McNabb is so popular is because he is black, no way.Rush didn't say that at all. He said he thought the media was desireous to see a black quarterback succeed.
And McNabb is written about like he's infalliable and the faults on the team are everyone elses.

Well frankly yes! Well I doubt Rush is the only one to say he is overrated. McNabb is going to be very busy if he is going to out everbody that says so!
To: BUSHdude2000
Oh, man. Look, I didn't think Limbaugh's comments were appropriate given the forum: I'll take my sports sans politics, thanks. But what exactly was so offensive about them that the "appropriate" thing to do is resign???
Even if what Rush said about McNabb was false, even if what he said about the reporters who cover McNabb was false-- and I don't know, I don't follow football-- how does that rise to some major outrage? I mean, look, sportscasters say false things all the time. They get it wrong when they talk about physics in baseball, they misjudge the abilities of atheletes all the time, etc. So, even if Rush was just wrong in what he said, why does that rise to a resignable gaff?
Some sportswriters are outraged; the think Rush was accusing them of being racist for giving McNabb "special treatment". See the latest column in SI, for example. Now, if this were just coming from sportswriters, that would be one thing. But liberals jumping on that bandwagon??!! Isn't the raison d'etre of liberalism affirmative action? And what is affirmative action if not the demand that certain professions lower their professional standards to benefit selected groups? So, it's an outrage if Limbaugh even suggests the reporters are doing what liberals deman everyone else do all the time?? God.
I'm sorry to see him resign under these circumstances.

I aks again... Could it be that he (unlike Barry Bonds) is given a free pass because he is considered to be a nice person?
Why must the conclusion be that if he is given preferential treatment, why must it be that race must be involved?
