...got any pet peeves?....um, don't know!....I got a pet rock....... ................huh?.....noooo!...pet PEEVES!.... .....look it up!...where???.....in TomKow's Treasury of KNowledge??? Noooooooooooooooo!!!!.......YES!...
pet peeve (plural pet peeves)
noun
particular personal complaint: somebodys constant issue or topic of complaint Got any PET PEEVES??? I got a few!! People who let you embarrass yourself and don't tell you. Like, when your zipper is undone, or you've got unsightly food on your teeth, or you're trailing a wad of toilet paper on your shoe...and people think they're being polite by not saying anything. People who push all the buttons on the elevator Will it make the thing come any faster? No..... Grocery Cart Wheels It seems like every time I get a cart, it goes screwy on me. Maybe I should invent some neologisms to describe all the ways the wheels can get out of whack. Like that bizarrely violent shimmying the front left wheel sometimes adopts, where, if it were a living, breathing creature, you'd most likely rush it to the hospital? Or what about the wheel that decides it hit a speck of dirt and so can go no further. Easier to drag a spooked horse into a trailer than to get that sucker around the aisle. Then there are the ones that simply decide they are not wheels after all but compasses, and refuse henceforth to go any direction except north? And nothing short of crashing into the wall will dissuade them from their path.... When the Express Lane doesn't mean Express Your at the "Express" cash (10 items or less) and the twit in front has a year's worth of groceries and the dodo cashier doesn't say anything. Bad HAIR day? People's comments when you're at someone else's desk "Oh Gee Sally - nice moustache." "Sally - you're not looking yourself today." "Wow Sally, you look alot like Bob today." !@#$!@#$$%#$%....ok ok I'm better now...SMILE Old-boaters 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Need I go on? Ok - you've seen them all over the place. They come from Florida and drive an old car that gets near-zero gas mileage, has jelly-suspension, and fins. The driver is typically octagenarian and tends to weave a lot. Except that from behind you can't even see if there's a driver. They should have a bumper sticker on the back that's just a steering wheel with a pair of knuckles and a hat. Welcome to Camp RUN-A-MUK!

Dear Kathy, Beachn4fun, *ALL;
Kathy, see below e-mail message from Dan:
I got a package from Kathy in Alaska. It was really nice, lots of stuff and some great jazz and classical cds. There is a nice picture of a lady without a stitch on in front of a fireplace on one of the cds, and the guys all appreciated that. The idea that you need a fireplace is one that I will have to reacquaint myself with. We will have to put the jazz on when I get home, it is really nice. The Lemonade blew up, but we recovered almost everything. I passed the treats around and all the boys loved them. The whole care package thing has kind of dried up, but that is ok since we are gone shortly (we hope) but it makes the ones we get very special.
Beachn4fun also sent a care package a while ago with a Video game system. And while I don't have the specific e-mail thanks from Dan, he told me that they hooked it up right away and played LOTS of football and hockey! They were all very happy to have some distractions to enjoy!
FReepers are amazing!
See below post to FREE REPUBLIC from Dan yesterday!

Hiya babe greetings from the sandbox, websense let me in tonight. So, you want me to babysit? As long as the tip at the end of the evening is good. ;-) Every once in awhile I can log on, so you better be careful!
Please tell all the FReepers thanks for the support. We are all anxious to get home, but we know that the mission comes first. I can't speak for everyone, but morale here is good, and any complaints we have are for internal consumption only, and tempered by the knowledge that it could be a lot worse. You put several thousand folks in this environment and there are going to be a few with more mouth than judgement. We read the news reports about the malcontents and get a good laugh out of it.
The weather is cooling down, and at night it is actually chilly. There is no thermometer out here that I know of, but I guess it hits the low eighties.
Hope to see you and the boys soon. I know that plans can change out here, but it should not be too much longer. I think about you all the time, and I am very proud of the job you do with our sons. I love you.
Thanks to you all for your support of Dan and of us!
We sincerely appreciate it!
From M0sby and our entire
Family,
THANK YOU!!!

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION
The light of God surround you The love of God enfold you The power of God protect you The presence of God watch over you Wherever you are,God is, And all is well. Amen.
Bless This House
Bless this house O Lord we pray;
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there,
with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell O Lord with thee.
