...got any pet peeves?....um, don't know!....I got a pet rock....... ................huh?.....noooo!...pet PEEVES!.... .....look it up!...where???.....in TomKow's Treasury of KNowledge??? Noooooooooooooooo!!!!.......YES!...
pet peeve (plural pet peeves)
noun
particular personal complaint: somebodys constant issue or topic of complaint Got any PET PEEVES??? I got a few!! People who let you embarrass yourself and don't tell you. Like, when your zipper is undone, or you've got unsightly food on your teeth, or you're trailing a wad of toilet paper on your shoe...and people think they're being polite by not saying anything. People who push all the buttons on the elevator Will it make the thing come any faster? No..... Grocery Cart Wheels It seems like every time I get a cart, it goes screwy on me. Maybe I should invent some neologisms to describe all the ways the wheels can get out of whack. Like that bizarrely violent shimmying the front left wheel sometimes adopts, where, if it were a living, breathing creature, you'd most likely rush it to the hospital? Or what about the wheel that decides it hit a speck of dirt and so can go no further. Easier to drag a spooked horse into a trailer than to get that sucker around the aisle. Then there are the ones that simply decide they are not wheels after all but compasses, and refuse henceforth to go any direction except north? And nothing short of crashing into the wall will dissuade them from their path.... When the Express Lane doesn't mean Express Your at the "Express" cash (10 items or less) and the twit in front has a year's worth of groceries and the dodo cashier doesn't say anything. Bad HAIR day? People's comments when you're at someone else's desk "Oh Gee Sally - nice moustache." "Sally - you're not looking yourself today." "Wow Sally, you look alot like Bob today." !@#$!@#$$%#$%....ok ok I'm better now...SMILE Old-boaters 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Need I go on? Ok - you've seen them all over the place. They come from Florida and drive an old car that gets near-zero gas mileage, has jelly-suspension, and fins. The driver is typically octagenarian and tends to weave a lot. Except that from behind you can't even see if there's a driver. They should have a bumper sticker on the back that's just a steering wheel with a pair of knuckles and a hat. Welcome to Camp RUN-A-MUK!

The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need by providing homes close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. There are currently 31 houses located on the grounds of every major military medical center and several VA medical centers. These houses will play a critical role in caring for casualties from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donations will be used to help meet the cost of lodging for a family whose loved one was injured in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom. There is a limit to the number of families who can stay in a Fisher House and program is committed to help provide lodging for families who must find commercial lodging, because the Fisher House is full. |

You think you're hot? Our military forces in Iraq sweat it out in 130 degree heat everyday! |

Cool Our Troops is a non-profit effort to 'Cool' our troops in Iraq. They are raising funds to send personal misters to 50,000 military personnel serving in Iraq. The misters are portable, no batteries or electricity required, and rely on evaporation to cool surrounding temperatures by 20-30 degrees. |

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:
I am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for me. By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have
finally found inner peace...
It read:..."The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the
things you've started."
So I looked around to see all the things I started and hadn't finished. And today I have finished off a bottle of vodka, a
bottle of red wine, a bottle of Jack Daniel's, my Prozac, a large box of chocolates and 2 12-pack of Miller beer....you have no
idea how good I feel.
You may pass this on to others that you feel are in need of
"Inner Peace"...

Tom, Good Morning and thanks for starting the thread.
A quiet breakfast of coffee and computer, after the marathon at duty last night.
Not so good news to report from Household Central: F-I-L is going under the knife at this hour; seems the warranty on his pacemaker is up, and he's due for a battery chage. The Missus took him to the hospital. They swear it's only outpatient, which means in by 0600, out the door by 1200. Ain't science in America a great thing?
However, if the leads running to his heart need work, then it's a guaranteed overnight stay. The Boy will be crashing at an aunt's house, and I'll be back at watch again, with The Missus bunking at FIL's place.
Wierd situation, but hey...
Thanks to all the PING's and such from Canteeners while I was busier than a one-legged man in an asskickin' contest last night.
Hugs to Mojo, Severa, and all others I can't recall who were in harm's way yesterday. May your cleanup be as brisk as the winds.

A very pleasant good morning to all of our military at home and abroad and to all of our military allies. Thanks for your continued service to our country.
Folks, we had a breif mishap yesterday the third time since we've been using the Dell Dimension 4500S.I clicked on the Interet icon in the tray and then clicked disconnect. The thing froze on me and I had to turn it off and turn it back on.Needless to say it was a roug go but for right now the computer is working O.K.
Good morning, 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub. How's it going:-D
