Despite Attack, Pastor Will Keep Speaking Out Against Homosexuality

Although a member of his congregation was brutally beaten recently by four homosexual men outside his church, an Ohio pastor says he won't be deterred from preaching against the sin of homosexuality.

Last month a volunteer at Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio, was violently assaulted as he was taking out the garbage. He received 17 body blows and suffered cuts and bruises to his face, arms, hands and ribs.

The church's senior pastor, Paul Endrei, says the homosexual attackers were upset with a sermon he preached entitled "It's Time to Draw the Line." In that message, Endrei stated that the Episcopal Church's first openly homosexual bishop teaches a false gospel.

The four attackers apparently came looking for Endrei, but instead met volunteer Rich Bilski as he was putting out the trash in back of the church. After asking Bilski where the pastor was and when he would arrive, the four men assaulted the church worker, one of them reportedly hitting him in the face with the frame of a tennis racquet. As they ran away, one of the attackers shouted, “That’s for Pastor Paul.”

Endrei feels other pastors need to know that if they preach against the homosexual lifestyle in America, there will be a backlash. He says "tolerance" to the homosexual community is a one-way street.

"As long as you agree with them, they're very happy to befriend you. But when you go against their agenda, you find that there is a very strong and violent force that is behind it," he says.

But the senior pastor says the threat of violence should not stop the Church from standing up for biblical truth. "We are going to continue to preach what we know is God's Word despite the attack," he says.

According to Endrei, the volunteer who was beaten has also encouraged him to continue speaking out against homosexuality. He says Bilski told him "Pastor, don't stop," and has continued to be very supportive of the minister and the message that he preached.

"I'm just saddened that he had to be the one that was attacked and got caught kind of in the middle of all this," Endrei adds.

You'll hear the pastor preaching against homosexuality being accused of hate speech, but you won't hear much about the real hate crime.

You got that right...We'd hear "hate crime" shouted from the rooftops, we'd have candlelight vigils, the networks would air movies about the brief yet wonderful life of the victim, laws named after the victim, etc.

I saw this story on the Cleveland news. 4 guys got out of the car and asked for the Pastor. The victim (I think they said he was a janitor) said that the Pastor wasn't in. The 4 then began to beat him. He said one of them must have been a martial artist because of his stances and manner of fighting.

The janitor had some pretty good bruises on his face.

Sounds more like a poser. A true artist need not assume a stance to initiate an attack. A true artist doesn't require 3 companions to attack a single opponent. Sounds like a true coward (perhaps interior decorating artist) to me.

Let us hope none of them publicly says they want to kill the pastor and his dog too. Otherwise they might engender some sympathy ...

Homosexuals are some of the most hate filled and intollerant people you will ever meet. There is more of this to come. Look to see if the police actually do anything about this. This would constitute a hate crime since at the very least its based on religion.

This priest and the members should demand the prosecutor issue a "wanted for hate crime"

All of satan's programs are of a heart of darkness...and violence is at the center of it... satan is arrogant enough to believe that he can take the kingdom of God by force... and seductive enough to get a lot of others to go along with him....

God bless you pastor...it could very well be a rough row to hoe in this life...

but eternity apart from God with his back turned to you...is too horrible to imagine...

A true martial artist wouldn't be picking fights, either. There is a reason why, for a long time, people were very secretive about their knowledge of martial arts.

Reason is because eventually, someone would call you on it to see just how good you were.
