Hmmmm, not terrorism, nothing to see here, move along...

Well, the Shiites did give our troops 24 hours to get out or the shiite would hit the fan.... ;-)

Speaking as someone in northcentral PA, I have outages north, east, west and southeast of me. It's a little unnerving, mostly because I'd hate to be out of touch.

If I stop posting on this thread, its because my power went down.

Does anyone remember the QUANTUM LEAP episode where Sam plugs a hair dryer into a certain outlet at a certain time and KNOCK OUT THE WHOLE EAST COAST?

Who plugged in a Hair dryer today?

Gee, if it spreads across the whole country, think the U.S. Government will finally admit it's a terrorist attack?

No...of course not...it's a "grid overload"...yeah, that's the ticket...

Honestly, does anyone with half a brain believe this B.S. cover story being put out? Who are they kidding?

I believe it. When you have that many gigawatts coursing around a power grid, a sudden dropout in NYC could have far-ranging effects.

Lets hope they don't drag down the rest of the grid when they try to bring it back up.

That's why I said it would take a couple of days to bring everything back - they have to restore gradually, and there are undoubtedly many power plants that are off line now and will not be available until they have off-site power available. Then there will be a time lag between getting started and hitting line. Coming on line will be a while for some customers.

And you're just too far east of me for smoke signals to work.

Just damn.

Jennings will criticize President Bush for being on the West Coast. But who's watching him anyway?

Fox radio just said that it was an explosion but not terrorist related. So, I ask, what caused the explosion?

Canadians!

Speculation on WWJ Radio(Detroit) suggested it may have started in Niagara Falls.

People had to walk from work in NYC on 9/11.

Yeah, but the bridges and tunnels were closed as well. So commuters aren't stuck on the island if they can catch a ride.

I just talked to my Dad who works in Midtown. His building's back-up generator is running, so he's just sitting in his office, reading the news, waiting for his wife to finish her shift at the hospital so he can go pick her up.

I was way more freaked out than him.

This smells to high heaven.
