Honestly, does anyone with half a brain believe this B.S. cover story being put out? Who are they kidding? I believe it. When you have that many gigawatts coursing around a power grid, a sudden dropout in NYC could have far-ranging effects.

Yeah? What caused the "dropout"?!
This smells to high heaven.

Oh, I believe taht could happen. However, I think that that is such a direct, obvious reason that I am wondering why it took 45 minutes for the word to spread that that's the reason.

I agree, but what I don't like is the quick tendency on the part of officials to say that it is not terrorist related.
It seems they are very anxious (too anxious) to say that an event is not terrorist related, though it is hard for me to belive they could come to any meaningful conclusion so quickly (in this case they were saying 'nothing to see here' within an hour of the event, or so.
It appears to me that the party line is to deny that something eventful is suspicious almost immediately. Since I don't have faith that they could come to a meaningful conclusion one way or the other within 30, 45, 60 minutes, or so.
It appears that the official party line is to deny something eventful is terrorist related, even before all the facts are in. That isn't a good thing.
