Episcopal Church Ends Probe of Gay Bishop-Elect Tue August 5, 2003 01:58 PM ET MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - U.S. Episcopal leaders have ended an investigation of sexual misconduct allegations against the church's first openly gay bishop-elect, and will vote on his ratification later on Tuesday, the church's presiding bishop said. The allegations surfaced at the last minute on Monday as the bishops were set to ratify the Rev. Gene Robinson as bishop of New Hampshire and forced a delay in the vote.
The vote will now take place following a report on the investigation at 3:30 p.m. EDT, presiding Bishop Frank Griswold told the assembled bishops.

Because they don't believe in their hearts. That's the whole point. They don't have any faith. They want to maintain the facade of the church. The whole "religion thing" is a more of a social gathering hence the need to be "inclusive".

**less than one day? Please either this is the fastest coverup or the most incompetent investication EVER.**
But will they call his supervisors who approved him on the carpet wheen he abuses kids sexually?
Yesterday it seemed all I heard by them was "Character Assassination."
Well, what do they think many Catholic priests have suffered through when they were unjustly accused???????????

It appears that this decision was predetermined and the email was just a bother, not important enough to fully consider. After all, a professed homosexual would be "touching" another male. That's what they do! Homosexuality is defined by a sex act.

I would high-tail it out of there (no pun intended). Its about time this come to a head (again, no pun intended). I think many religions need to be exposed (for the last time, no pun intended.) Shouldn't it be probed further to see what comes of it.....

If I were King:
"Canon Robinson, are you a homosexual?"
"Yes, your majesty."
"Then you are unfit for any position of leadership in our society. My consent for your elevation to bishop is withheld, and you are hereby stripped of your priestly titles."
"I accept your judgment, your majesty."

Don't understand how the Episcopal church can have a queer as a leader in the church when he is living in sin, totally against the teachings of the Bible. The leadership of the church is majority apostate. In a way, this is a blessing in disguise. These things happen over the course of decades, not in a day. Conservative Bible-believing Episcopalians should have left long ago (many have). This issue should cause every last one of them to make the Exodus.
