LOS ANGELES, July 22 (UPI) -- Ozzy Osbourne says he will run as an independent to succeed Gov. Gray Davis as California's chief executive.
But the Los Angeles Times noted Osbourne may encounter some criticism over accusations he's a Satanist and animal torturer. During a concert he allegedly bit the head off a live bat. Recently, Osbourne has found fame in a reality television sitcom.

I don't know who Ozzy Osbourne is, but for those looking for a moderate Republican, KNX reported today that Congressman Elton Gallegly took out papers for running, though he's not a candidate unless he turns in the filing fees+signatures.
Gallegly represents most or part of Ventura County, and his district overlaps that of State Senator Tom McClintock. I still much prefer Tom, since he has a real plan for CA.:)
