Let BRAVO Know What You THINK About Their Homosexual Agenda!
07/29/03 | Kieri

Posted on 07/29/2003 6:25:52 AM PDT by Kieri

This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:

"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.

Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.

You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."

I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

BRAVO's "Contact Us" page is here:

"Sorry, they had a name change because of the great backing from both sexes, now you can go to millionsofamericans.com
"

Nah, that's not it. I went there. It's a conservative site, but not interested in television.

You want http://www.onemilliondads.com

That's the one that you're talking about.

There's room on the dial for Bravo's new "identity".
I'll miss Bravo's "indie movie, Theatre awards show" incarnation. But, they still have the afternoon creepfests with Mr. Lipton (The Actor's Studio.)

Here's a review that I think captures why "queer eye" is a success, FWIW.

I agree. It's a real deception. I know many homosexuals from the antique business and from school. I care about them and I try to be kind and loving as I would be to anyone else. But I am really upset about the homosexual agenda which tries to destroy our children. Some people here are really too blind to see it.

Do you have kids? I'd be very afraid......

Afraid of what? That I let my children from watching TV that is unacceptable to you? Isn't that my job and none of your damn buisness? Young adults could watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and possibly even better themselves. What harm could that show possibly cause? On the other hand I would not let them watch garbage reality sex shows whether they are straight or gay.

I have Tivo, which lets you select what channels appear in your lineup very easily. Within an hour of setting it up, I purged MTV, VH1, CNN, CNNFn, CNN Headline NEws, MSNBC, all the home shopping network channels, and some otehrs from my lineup. Now I don't even cross them while channel surfing!

TIVO!

You could broadcast a period sitcom about Hitler and Eva Braun and their dog, and as long as you hired good enough gag writers, you'd have no problem finding millions of viewers who would find it "entertaining" and "funny".

Believe it or not, this has already been tried. In the early 1990s a British cable channel created a 13-episode sitcom called "Heil Honey, I'm Home!" (I swear to God I'm not making this up.) It was basically a Honeymooners/Flintstones-style setup, except Hitler and Eva Braun were in one house and their next-door neighbors were Jewish.

At least I should say 13 episodes were planned. Only eight were produced, and only one ever aired before it was cancelled.

I never saw the one episode, so I don't know whether this particular show violated your "hire good enough gag writers" rule or if it was just so politically incorrect that the cable channel wimped out and threw it off the air before the complaints started rolling in. In any case, the show later was ranked 61st in a TV special that listed the UK's "100 Worst Moments in Television History" (practically none of which I recognize, but I sure would love to see).

Nope, don't have kids (by choice). Why are you letting your kids watch the show? If they don't watch, you won't have to explain it to them.

Spoken like a true non-parent. This is like saying, "Why do people whine about spam and popup ads and telemarketers?" If you don't like them, just don't read the spam or the popup ads, and just hang up on the telemarketers. What's the problem here?"

"It's so trivially easy to prevent your kids from seeing this stuff. If all of your best efforts can't block 100% of the crap on TV you don't want your kids to see, just throw away the TV. Don't complain to the networks or the advertisers! What's the problem? And if you can't stop your kids from being subjected to porno popup ads and porno spam, just throw away your computer, or at least never let your kids touch one again. What's the problem? And if your relatives have no cable channel blocking, just shut your kids in a closet when you visit relatives. What's the big deal here? Damned whining parents!"

The Saving private Ryan complaint example was appropriate in terms of showing brutal violence on tv. It's a very violent war movie that young children should not see.

They do have an openly gay agenda, but that "Queer Eye" show is a riot.

I must admit to seeing an article in the paper about it and watching out of curiosity and then guiltily...liking it. :-)

It's freakin' hilarious.

shouldn't this be directed to SPONSORS? It does not matter if you have the good show, it only matters if you have sponsors.

"I know many homosexuals from the antique business and from school. I care about them and I try to be kind and loving as I would be to anyone else. But I am really upset about the homosexual agenda which tries to destroy our children."

So, what are your acquaintances from the antique business and from school doing to destroy your children? What specific behaviors do the homosexuals you know carry out that endangers your children?

It's nice that you _try_ to be "kind and loving" to them, but why would you do that if they're trying to destroy your children.

Or is only the homosexuals you _don't_ know who are the danger?

FOX and Fox News are entirely different. Fox News just has news shows and news analysis shows. Fox is supposedly a family channel but it's not anymore.

I suggested nothing of the sort.

Wrong. You wrote:

You could have MichiganConservativeSatellite up and running in just a year or two, offering just the channels you think are appropriate to that consuming public out there.

What is that other than you insinuating that I want to control what people want? Maybe you ought to go back and re-read your sarcasm-laden post. You seem to have a short memory. If not, you are now trying to recharacterize your post as something that it is not.

And what is this other than uncalled-for sarcasm:
Not interested? Oh, well.

What is wrong with saying I'd like service that better matches my viewing habits? Making constructive suggestions such as "I'd like it if you did ..." to businesses is something they usually like to hear. That lets them change their practices to better serve their customers and keep them paying.

What's your problem? Do you see the TV police around every corner coming to regulate what you watch? Are you projecting your fears on me?

No, they aren't. I had a gay brother in law and loved him very much. I don't think all people who are against the homosexual agenda are gay bashers. If we tell the truth, how can it be bashing?

Yes, most children seem to have closer same-sex friends before they start to appreciate the opposite sex. All we need is a little propaganda to tell them "You aren't really best friends , but you and the other 10 year old down the street are really latent homosexuals whom society is trying to repress. So go and experiement with homosexual sex. You can dress well, as an added bonus of being gay!"

*** ******* **

This is why groups like GLSEN are obsesed with getting into public schools. They want to pigeon hole children to believe they are homosexuals are early as possible. Why? because they know homosexual behavior and preferences ARE learned.
