Tomorrow is the filing deadline for citywide candidates here in Baltimore City, it is my intent to file as a Republican Candidate for the "Office of City Council President."
For the longest time Democrats have enjoyed one party rule within the city and have stacked the deck with socialist to liberal candidates on the city council.
50% of public school children in Baltimore City must attend summer school and on any given day less that 20% show up for summer school. Baltimore is in the top 5 for city with high STD's Rates and more than often political appointees have come to the city tweak their resume and leave behind a poor record to show.
Those who live in Baltimore City should be fully aware that if Mayor O'Malley wins reelection he will never serve out his full term, but is waiting and bidding for either the governorship or the US Seante in 2006. If O'Malley chooses to run and steps down as mayor, the City Council President become mayor and Democrats lose control of a major urban area.

Best of luck to you, wish I could cast a vote for you. In Dallas Texas there are 21,000 kids in summer school. So the problem is not limited to one area of the country.
Dallas had a heck of a time finding anyone that would take the job of School superintendent for the longest time.

Remember, Nancy Pelosi grew up in Baltimore, and her father (and maybe her brother as well) have been mayors there. Baltimore is in many ways as liberal as her new city, San Francisco.
