Crossfire: Carville Tries To Shout Away Online Primary (And Lamestream Press Ignores It)

CARLSON: ...The true voice of the Democratic Party has spoken, uttering four words that speak volumes: Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich. They're the big winners of the online primary conducted this week by moveon.org.

The former Vermont governor crushed the rest of the field with about 44 percent of the vote. Congressman Kucinich was distant second, with 24 percent. With the exception of John Kerry's 16 percent, none of the other candidates even made it out of single digits, and low ones at that.

If Carville is doing commercials he must be on the outs financially.

I saw this commercial - to me it seemed kind of weird. The boy is wearing shorts and socks, and they focus in on his socks and bare legs - like this is some kind of selling point. I think it was for a phone company. Kind of like marketing to gays. Just weird. Uh, I didn't buy the product.

The rat's substitutes should be easy to spot during the campaign. They'll have a couple of people that aren't running that are constantly in the press. But they will only talk about non-controversial issues. Issues where they can take a position that is strong in the polls.

Funny, but I came to a different conclusion about the 'significance' of that online poll. I read the article on Drudge and went to check it out for myself on moveon.org. I hadn't been aware of that organization previously,but from what I can tell on their website is that they're dedicated to advancing 'moderate and progressive reforms' (a.k.a., liberal agenda). so, it didn't surprise me that the polling public on an ultra liberal website likes ultra liberal Howard Dean the best. I fail to see the 'significance' in that--just predictable poll results. I mean, we could do a poll here on FR about who we want to see run for Prez in 2004, and I wouldn't be surprised, nor would i find it significant, if the majority chose Bush. am I missing something here in this 'news'?

Personally, i think it's terrific: let the Left move ever further left. They'll only alienate that many more people. Hurray for us good guys!

Online primary was significant in that even Dennis Kucinish beat John Kerry. I figured Kerry would be a distant second but NEVER did I think he would be a distant third trailing BOTH Kucinich and Dean. This online primary IS significant.

Hey, P-J, you notice how some intellectuals like to admit that they're technologically challenged? It almost seems like they wear their ignorance as a badge of honor--as if, they're too smart and important to deal with learning that piddly stuff--they, unlike us minions, have paid staff to deal with such mundane things. That allows the Carvilles of the world to free their brains and concentrate on the really important philosophical stuff: "Watch out--genius at work! computers? never touch the stuff! now back to solving the Meaning of Life." I cannot bear to watch or listen to Carville. He's just raw guttural emotions--almost like watching Mr Hyde (of jeckyll and hyde) or Capt Jim of StarTrek when he had his personality split in two. Only with Carville, we never get to see any other side--it's always pure venom! I can't understand what kind of a relationship he and matalin have...nope, just can't understand it...

If I recall correctly, I had an opportunity to vote for my number one choice and then #2. I voted for Howeird first and in another question, Kookinich.

Conservatives rule the internet and like to participate in Dem politics when given a chance. I get three or four Dem newsletters. The value of this poll is all the media attention it is getting. I think Gov. Dunce has reaped a pile of publicity compliments of many conservatives.

Remember, Forbes announced his candidacy on the internet and spent a fortune on a website and network that went nowhere.
