COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY '04 --
514 DAYS TO REELECT PRESIDENT BUSH

Welcome to the Victory '04 Countdown Thread to Reelect President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard B. Cheney on November 2, 2004!

In these initial stages of the 2004 campaign, we have a great opportunity to lay the groundwork for victory and communicate President Bush's compassionate conservative message across America. This Victory '04 Countdown Thread will be providing information for Freepers and other groups at the Grassroots to organize and take action in the days ahead, helping President Bush as he works to grow our economy and keep America strong.

We are including a daily section of links (with excerpts) to articles/editorials on the President for you to use in spreading the positive message of this Administration. We also would like you to post on the daily threads what actions you or someone you know have taken to support Victory '04. None of us can afford to get complacent and believe poll numbers! We have to work like Bush Cheney are down in the polls until the last polling place closes on election night to achieve VICTORY '04!!!!

TODAY'S ACTION ITEM!

GEORGE W. BUSH.COM -- DONATE TODAY!

On May 29th, 2003, we launched the VICTORY IN '04 -- $4 for '04! Grassroots Fundraising to Re-Elect Bush Cheney '04! here on Free Republic.

We are asking when you donate to Bush Cheney '04 to remember to add $4 to your donation so that it will read $14, $24, $54, $104 -- whatever amount will end in "4!" This will show President Bush that the Grassroots stands firmly behind him in is quest for FOUR MORE YEARS!

Our goal is to help President Bush raise $4 million in campaign contributions from grassroots activists on the Internet for his bid for four more years in the White House. Howard Dean has already raised $1 million online from left- wing Hollywood activists. Let's show them Freepers are stronger.

We are asking you to donate today! Every dollar is needed to insure the reelection of Bush Cheney in '04. From the early indications, this is going to be a very negative, nasty campaign by the DemocRATS! Bush Cheney Reelection campaign will need all the resources they can get to counter the DemocRAT Attacks including those by the DemocRAT partners in the liberal media.

Remember -- that is --

GEORGEWBUSH.COM DONATION LINK!

Another Important Action Item -- continue your donations to Free Republic during the campaign! Please consider becoming a monthly donor to keep this website up and running smoothly! When you donate the next time to Free Republic -- how about adding $4 to your Free Republic donation too?

The Bush Cheney '04 campaign is going to need all the support from Freepers that they can get to make sure that the White House, Senate, or House does not fall into DemocRAT control . Freepers did it in 2000, and we will do it even better in 2004 as we return President Bush to the White House and keep control of the Senate and House in even larger numbers! With that in mind, become a Free Republic monthly donor TODAY!!!!

Democrats Court Liberal Activists by Criticizing War, Bush - from Tampa Bay Online (excerpt)

"We have come out of war with weapons we can't find, guided by a president who told us a year and a half ago we're getting bin Laden - he can't find him," Sharpton told the "Take Back America" conference sponsored by two progressive groups, the Campaign for America's Future and the Institute for America's Future. "Everything President Bush is after he can't find," Sharpton said on the final day of the three-day conference in which several of the Democratic candidates made their pitch to party's hard core.

Many of those in attendance planned to end the forum by marching from the Washington area hotel to Vice President Dick Cheney's residence in a "mock millionaire" demonstration replete with tuxedos and tiaras.

"If we don't have a candidate with clear alternatives, they're going to vote for George Bush. I'm not going to be Bush-lite," Gephardt said in a speech to a half empty ballroom in a Washington hotel.

Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts brought the crowd to its feet by criticizing Bush's domestic agenda. He blamed Bush for a failure of diplomacy but went on to stress that Democrats must be the party of national security as well as domestic security.

If Democrats do not stand for "making America safer, stronger and more secure, for all we care about all those issues, we won't win back the White House and we won't deserve to," he said as the audience fell silent.

He called for a "tough-minded strategy of international engagement." His remarks were a stark contrast to those of Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who got a standing ovation when he said housing, education and other domestic priorities should be funded with money taken out of the defense budget. He called for peace and demanded the Bush administration disclose its evidence for claiming that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.

Notably absent from the forum were the more moderate Democrats in the crowded field, Sens. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bob Graham of Florida. Click Here for Full Article

D-Day remembrance by Stroube Smith

In this era when we Americans have come to expect almost instant millitary victory with comparatively little of our own blood shed, it is hard to convey to those who did not live through World War II what it was like then.

Today, the 59th anniversary of D-Day when the Allies stormed the Normandy shore, is as good a time as any to make the effort.

Triumph — the unconditional surrender of Germany and Japan — I think seems inevitable to folks who know of the war as only a matter of history. For those of us who experienced it, that was far from the case.

In the opening months, we had suffered through a long string of defeats starting with the bloody surprise of Pearl Harbor. Guadalcanal had been a long and bruising campaign in what seemed to most of us the middle of nowhere.

We and our Allies — eventually including the Free French — had successfully invaded Africa and then Sicily. But that campaign seemed to have turned into a bloody stalemate halfway up the Italian boot.

The only experience we had of a landing on the French coast was Dieppe, when the British sacrificed Canadian lives in a costly repulse. And after all, the memories of the British retreat from Dunkirk, while a gallant effort, was yet one more reminder of what a tough enemy the Germans were.

So when the D-Day landings took place, the war's outcome was still very much in doubt, and it was far from a sure thing that we were going to secure an area large enough to serve as a springboard for a sustained offensive and a drive to eventual victory.

For hours, we listened to cryptic bulletins on the radio. Click here for Full Article

Bush Successes Led By Instincts

Friday, June 06, 2003

FOX NEWS

WASHINGTON — President Bush, by his own description, is a practical man, a leader who doesn't want to waste time on high-profile meetings unless they hold the promise of success.

He likes to speak plainly and directly, he says, and tries to get leaders off their formal talking points and into more casual conversations. He trusts his instincts when sizing up people.

"One of my jobs is to try to help relax people in a setting. I hope I'm pretty good at that," Bush said the other day. "How do you feel, do you feel relaxed right now?" He got an affirmative response, and said with satisfaction, "It worked.

"When it comes to big decisions, Bush says, he doesn't wrestle with himself. "You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things." Click Here for Full Article

Today is D-Day and the Washington Times has a great editorial (above) about what D-Day means to those who were living 59 years ago today! Please take time to read the editorial and remember those brave men who gave their lives for Freedom 59 years ago!

The majority of DemocRATs are playing to their very liberal base according to the AP article above. They are very anti-Bush and anything the President accomplishes. Believe the DemocRATs are best summed up by the comments near the end of the article:

Republican National Committee spokesman Jim Dyke dismissed the Democrats' criticism of the president. "The best that the Democrats have to put forward to Americans is to hope for the worst for America," he said. "As an election strategy, we're not sure that people will appreciate that."

That describes today's Clinton DemocRATs perfectly!

Keep those comments in mind and vow to become actively involved in this Victory '04 campaign!

If you would like on or off this Bush Cheney '04 Victory Ping List, please let me know! Thanks!

The Democrats' strongest campaign platform is their rumor mill of lies and half truths. It's running full bore these days. For some reason, I'm struck by it's similarity to the rumor mill in Iraq....

"He has panderered to every liberal group and is going way out of his way to crap on every core voter block in the Republican party. The religious right is angry because he is sucking up to the homos, he has enraged the anti big Government folks by signing the Patriot Act (Giving unlimited and unchecked power to the world best funded terrorist group, the FBI). In addition he signed the McCain-Finegold act in total violation of the 1st amt. and has lost at least 80% of the 4 and a half million members of the NRA by stating that he is going to extend the evil Clintoon Assault Weapons Ban. And worst of all he appointed a religious wacko Attorney General. Honestly how can you trust anyone who thinks a invisible spaceman is telling him how to live his life? An will not allow anyone to work with him unless they join him daily in talking to the spaceman?????"

He is not pandering to homosexuals. Civility is not pandering. The entire religious right is not angry : only a few wingnuts are. The Patriot Act does NOT give unlimited power to the government. I've read it. Have you? As far as anyone knows, the 'assault weapons' ban is gonna be allowed to expire. John Ashcroft is not a "religious wacko", LOL. And you talk about President Bush angering the religious right???

You are blathering proof that trolls have no opinions : they only parrot talking points. Amazing you lasted here for three months without setting off the troll alarms earlier!
