Troop Prayer Thread 6

We have been gathering here in order to unite our forces to weave a tapestry of protection by God's grace over our troops who have been and are in harm's way. We operate under the theory that if the prayers of a righteous man availeth much, then the prayers of a single-minded group can avail even more!

We pray not only for our troops in harm's way, but also for our leaders, our nation, and our people, as well as our allies, and any situation or circumstance which can have an effect on any of those things.

We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We continue to hold vigil for those who are still in harm's way. Because stable government in Iraq and Afghanistan is a condition which reduces the risk of attack on our nation and her allies, and it thereby reduces the risk to our troops, we will also be holding vigil on this thread for the Victory War. In other words, we will be praying that the Victory won with the blood and sacrifice of our precious troops will not be lost by diplomatic or unwise negotiations. At all times we will be praying for only God's Will and Plan to be made manifest in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East region, and throughout the world.

If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, OR IF THE STATUS OF YOUR TROOPER HAS CHANGED please let us know so that we may correct the list. When your trooper returns home, let us know so that we may rejoice with you! We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

There are no American military personnel listed as missing during Operation Iraqi Freedom as of 6:30 p.m. EDT Monday.

"...prayer is of extreme value in changing the fabric of how things unfold in our world to the good."

Father in Heaven, in Jesus I come. I pray your grace and mercy over those boys in the field who are away from their fathers. That they would have some sign that their dads are thinking of them today, and that those dads would have some contact from their sons. May both be assured of your love and of mutual love and respect - dad to son and son to father.

I pray also for those men who are fathers in the field, separated from thier sons and daughters. May this knowledge comefort them: that their calling now to serve America the Free in such troubled times is the greatest evidence of their love for their families as well as their country. May the wives of our troops pass on this message to their children: Your daddy loves you so much that he is willing to lay down his life to protect you, and not only you, but also the children of mommies and daddies he has never met, just because they are Americans.

May each soldier - son, father, husband, brother, sister, wife or mother - know also the comfort of faith in You, the Father who hears our prayers and delights to give His children good things.

Bring America's warrior-fathers home again safely, so that they may once again (or for the first time) hold and smell and kiss and and cuddle and delight in their children.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL OUR TROOPS, ALL THEIR FAMILIES AND ALL WHO LOVE AMERICA!

Our Father,

We are gathered together on this day to celebrate the blessing you have granted us through the founding of this nation America.

Father, we thank you for the wisdom and sacrifice of those who were inspired by you and your angels to create this new form of self-governance. We thank you for our first President, George Washington. We thank you for putting such a strong and honorable soul into that position of leadership, one who was humble before you and strong enough to turn down the all-power of king when it was offered, and thereby demonstrated that a peaceful transfer of power was possible. This is a great gift, Father, and we thank you and praise you for it.

Father, we thank you for the soldiers who fought under George Washington and secured the victory for this nation's freedom.

We thank you for the sacrifices of those soldiers and all who have held vigil for America in the days since then. Thank you for the fine young men and women who serve presently and who guard us in this hour. Preserve them from all harm and bind the snipers, suicide bombers, and all other dangers to them. Give these soldiers in harm's way the ability to discriminate who is friend and who is foe. Grant them the ability to dodge any bullets or ordinance lofted their way. We call forth miracles for these young people to preserve their lives and limbs.

Father, we call forth your intercession in the entire situation in the nations of Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you will place your All Seeing Eye upon Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. Reveal to us according to thy will the whereabouts of these individuals. If it is your will, do not allow them to any longer dodge justice and retribution for the evil which they have wrought.

We ask for the blessing upon all nations and continents, the same gift which America had: true servants of the people. We ask that you will raise up true servants of the people in the nations of Iraq and Afghanistan!

Father, we call forth your guidance and Will to be done in the entire situation in Israel. Grant all parties and individuals involved your guidance and vision. You are the only answer and refuge for this blood bath which has lasted for generations. Bring to our leaders, especially our President and the Israeli government leaders and those who might be searching for peace among the Palestinians the solutions which can and should be brought to bear in this situation. Raise up true servants of the people among the Palestinians and Israelis! We call forth your mercy and justice in this torn part of the world.

We have seen the potential for revolution for freedom stirring in Iran. On this day of America's freedom, grant the inspiration and guidance for the impetus of freedom for the nation of Iran. Raise up true servants of the people in Iran! Let your angels go into that nation and work a miracle of freedom and mercy for the people who have lived there under tyranny for far too long. Let only your Will be done in that nation.

Father, many years ago we created strong ties to the nation Liberia on the continent of Africa. We have seen reports that we will be sending some troops in to assist in halting a bloody situation there. Father, we call for the protection of all our troops who are sent there. We also call forth your guidance and mercy in that entire situation. Grant our leaders your vision of what our mission will be. Raise up true servants of the people in that nation. We call forth a mighty miracle for Victory for those who love you in that nation. Let only your will be done in Liberia and the entire continent of Africa!

We continue to see storm clouds of darkness gathering over China and Korea. Father, we petition you humbly and urgently to raise up true servants of the people in those nations and throughout Asia.

Father, we thank you for the bounty of this nation. We thank you for the ties of commonality which devotion to our Constitution and the Rule of Law have given our people over the last two centuries. Father, we beseech to you guide us as we work to keep alive the true spirit of that Constitution and the Rule of Law. Father, guide our leaders and strip this nation's government of those who do not serve the nation's best interests. Bind and judge those who betray the principles of goodness. Expose and hold accountable those who serve only themselves and their lusts for filthy lucre. Expose to our people the truth and the lie about any and all policies proposed to them. Grant us YOUR Vision, YOUR Wisdom, YOUR inspiration. We ask you to raise up true servants of the people for all governmental offices in this nation. Guide our President George W. Bush, and grant him an extraordinary ability to hear your voice when he bows his head in prayer. We call forth your Will to be done, and for the miracle of continued blessings for this land and her people.

Oh God, our Father, we joyfully petition you to please bless America and all the nations of the earth as we celebrate the birth of freedom!
