She's on the leader board through 6! HA!
Of course she still has a long way to go.

Loud and enthusiastic, but not going crazy yet. Big cheers for the birdie, though.

I knew a guy many years ago who was in his mid-sixties.
He had the first set of all woods I ever saw. He made a fortune by just knowing his limitations, most of from "grip it and rip it" players.

LOL!
I'll bet Annika is as good in one as she is in the other :)
To: Teacher317
That should be 4/5 on fairways, not 5/5

Michele Wie..... only thirteen but six feet tall and hits the ball a ton. Will probaly get stronger yet. She's playing in one of the Nationwide Tour events this summer.
To: HamiltonJay
I would agree with you if Annika can still hit her mid irons reasonably high 25 yeards behind the men approaching the green in wet conditions.
If the course dries out, she may not be able to get away with it..

What good is being able to hit it 275 off the tee, if you're in the stinking woods? (ok, I just described my game) LOL, I cut back my swing and really improved my score...fairways and greens

You are exactly correct! The mental aspect of golf is so important. Golf, like most professional sports is a game of inches.
Specifically, the six inches between an athlete's ears.

For 3 days I've been telling everyone that Annika is gonna "light it up"! Go Annika!

10th (par 4, 404 yds): On the fairway twice, birdie putt is 18" short, makes par.
11th (par 5, 609 yds): On the fairway all three shots, birdie putt is 10" short, makes par.
12th (par 4, 443 yds): On the fairway, second shot on the rim of the green, makes par.
13th (par 3, 178 yds): 3 inches off of the carpet, birdie putt is GOOD!
14th (par 4, 457 yds): On the green in two, long birdie putt is 6" short, makes par.
15th (par 4, 430 yds): Drive misses the fairway, 2nd shot hits the green, 20ft putt misses left. 5" par putt is good
16th (par 3, 188 yds): Tee shot is within 6ft of the pin, birdie putt is barely right, 2" par putt is good.
17th (par 4, 383 yds):
18th (par 4, 427 yds):

Nope. Missed the 6-footer. "Just mis-read the putt."
To: Teacher317
Actually she could have 2-3 more birdies with some lucky putts..

Well, on other threads I said she was going to get smoked, and it looks like I was wrong. I said the same thing. I'm astonished and even more impressed at her performance so far.
To: 1Old Pro
I just put the driver away. On the course I play, if you're 220-230 off the tee, but in the fairway, you're in decent shape.

To: HamiltonJay
I stated a fact, not an excuse. Do you know anything about golf? I've always said she is a terrific golfer, but the fact is she wouldn't be a winner on the PGA tour full-time and would have trouble qualifying at times. If she does well here on the shortest course, more power to her, don't take it so personally and make cheap insults. You sound like a man-hater with your scrotum crack.
