Been trying to 'splain that to some of the neanderthals on here for weeks, but they just keep clinging to that strength issue.
I know women who can't do 200 off the tee on their best day, but routinely route young bucks showing off their 280-300 tee shots. I know retirees who are in the same boat, but take these "strong" younguns to school on a regular basis.
Every additional asset you have helps, but if you think strength makes your golf game you are a fool.

Wake me up when she decides to take on the field at Carnoustie or Sawgrass.

Just joking, grasshopper

Say she is 25 short on the tee. Assume she hits irons shorter than the guys too.... she's useing 2 or 3 more club sizes. It's gonna come down to her iron and putter play.

I remember Calvin Peete. I think he was from the DC area, and learned how to play on public courses. He had one very good US open playing that way.

I hafta admit... She deserves to be there. Good for you! She just hit another great shot.
I admire this little lady's guts.

Lee Trevino said pressure was needing to win when you've only got ten bucks and the bet is fifty (or something like that). He could play a course with a taped-up Coke bottle!

And after listening to a couple of her interviews, she's a very affable personality, not some 'Martha Burke Biyatch'. I'm a convert. If she says that she is a huge Bush fan and a big conservative I might become a fan.

Well, on other threads I said she was going to get smoked, and it looks like I was wrong.
She has really won me over. I admit after butting heads with a few of the knuckle-draggers around here the past few days I was more inclined to root for her just to shut them up, I'm now rooting for her because she's really having a great time out there and it looks like the guys she's playing with are too.

Better to be straight than long.
What good is being able to hit it 275 off the tee, if you're in the stinking woods? (ok, I just described my game)

A few years ago I played a round with an 80 year old man who never hit the ball more than 170 yards, but he never flubbed a shot, was never in the rough, and made every putt that was 12 feet or less. He beat me by about 8 shots; yes it was a short course and, yes, I'm lousy, but length isn't everything in the bedroom or the golf course.
