President Bush and First Lady Laura welcomed Philippines President Glora Macapagal-Arroyo and her husband, First Gentleman Jose Miguel T. Arroyo to the White House today for a rare but official state visit. The President and Arroyo held a joint press conference today and addressed the war on terror as well as the prospects for peace in the Middle East. This evening, the First Couple hosted a state dinner honoring the visiting President Arroyo. Also announced today, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer will be leaving his post later this year. We'll miss you, Ari! Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I take it back. I do not like Mrs Bush's dress....it fits terribly and it looks like someone pinned it closed because it might be too revealing....
Like many women her age....she needs a better bra!
Not that I would know anything about that PERSONALLY!

I have to agree, I don't like that bow on our Lauras dress, and
The President of the Phillpines is a lovely petite woman..
but her dress is hideous, she's too delicate for those awful sleeves..
I mean no disrespect, but it looks like something from Star Trek..

That purple dress has aerodynamic possibilities.

I can live with the sleeves....but the lime green sash is a Glamour don't!

Tell me about it. Every dress that the First Lady has worn in the last year and a half has had a bow on it, and they are very unflattering. Like I said on the live dinner thread, she should save the bows for when her daughters give her granddaughters. I cannot think of one way that a bow could look cute or beautiful on a mature woman.
I think the First Lady should be wearing a dress similar to what Susan Graham had on. I think it would look great on Mrs. Bush.

"The President of the Phillpines is a lovely petite woman.. but her dress is hideous, she's too delicate for those awful sleeves.. The wide, bell-shaped sleeves are traditional formal Filipino style. Very frequently, the Filipino dresses are made of pineapple silk, shimmery and luminous. She's a tiny, classy BABE.

Agree on the bow thingy....
That Susan Graham dress....now THAT'S a dress!!!!
But I don't think Mrs Bush would EVER wear anything that revealing....not her style....but, the bows have gotta go!

You're welcome! Arroyo has been a great ally to us- much more so than our neighbors to the north.
