President Bush and First Lady Laura welcomed Philippines President Glora Macapagal-Arroyo and her husband, First Gentleman Jose Miguel T. Arroyo to the White House today for a rare but official state visit. The President and Arroyo held a joint press conference today and addressed the war on terror as well as the prospects for peace in the Middle East. This evening, the First Couple hosted a state dinner honoring the visiting President Arroyo. Also announced today, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer will be leaving his post later this year. We'll miss you, Ari! Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: And I still believe that we need to -- not only believe, I will move the process forward. But it is clear that the process is not going to be smooth so long as terrorists kill. And it's a stark reminder that there are killers who can't stand the thought of peace. And it's sad, and it's pathetic.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. Watched it on C-span. The commentator from the Clinton days seemed very positive when speaking of President Bush. Too bad we don't see the reception line.

Hey Twinkie. Couldn't agree with you more on that bow. Saw it, and went "what is with her designer?" Bows are for children, mostly little girls, for Pete's sake!!
