With all due respect, the only think Gerry Rivers has ever been is pro-Gerry Rivers and screw everybody else.

Literally. How many women did Whorealdo brag about having - something like a thousand or more?

I agree--I even wrote FNC asking that his Fox affiliation not end with this mistake. I never cared for his Clinton-apologizing on CNBC (which probably was an effort to justify his own poor marital behavior). But he said that his life changed 9-11 and, where there is life, the chance for redemption is possible.

Same here. Why did FNC ever hire this guy? He's been a laughingstock in my book ever since his Capone fiasco ("We're going in!"). Actually, now that I think of it, he's always been a buffoon. I don't see him as a serious journalist by any stretch of the imagination. He's better suited in being a game show host.

The only reason we know about North's covert operations was his famous line testifying before congress.

"Of course I couldn't tell you. If I did, it wouldn't have been a "covert" operation".

I decided I liked him after that *L*

I sent Fox the same type of email I sent NBC. Geraldo should be fired IMO because having been out with the troops he should know better! Disgusting!

Geraldo gave away battle plans and should be axed! You don't go on TV and tell where the troops are going to be attacking and from what direction when you are embedded. Different from the analyst in the studio who is guessing what will happen.

Arnett was giving aid and comfort to the enemy and should be axed and in his case, I would remove his citizenship -- he gave up that right -- let him return to New Zealand.

My wife came in telling me about what this idiot did,
She could not believe that he was giving away positions and timeframes,
She was pissed, all the other reporters would not give away any details
she was wondering how he could get away with it,
Well I guess he didn't,

He put our brave soldiers at risk with his report last night.

FOX needs to fire his sorry butt.

so why arent we bellowing for his dismissal as well as Arnetts?

Arnett was an outright traidor to the US. A pro- death leftist. I'm suprised he wasn't chanting "Death to America!"
Geraldo is just plain dumb, but pro-American.

I was just over at the FOX website to see if they were reporting this - they weren't but they do have a story about NBC firing Peter Arnett.

Last evening Geraldo was doing his show and Fox NY/DC reporter brought up recent remarks re Arnett and tossed in Scott Ritter. Hey Geraldo, want some rope?

Geraldo was with troops and in their presence, answered back to the effect: "I know both men" and they are great guys, however he did say that Arnetts remarks on Iraqi TV were unfortunate. Geraldos remarks somewhat side stepped the question, however weasel room was left. With Geraldo's recent career tragetory having been like an errant cruise missle (all over cable and cancelled) you never know who you might meet again on the way down.

Another breathtaking glimpse at the Ego from the 60's who married Kurt Vonneguts daughter, dumped her and has since been a weasel par excellance in promoting Geraldo.

Poor Geraldo. I've got to admit to liking the guy. He is, however, insane.

I enjoyed Geraldo talking one-on-one with the troops. I hope he can still do that. I know the families back home look forward to these interviews.

OK, I'll give Geraldo some credit for that... the one-on-one's with the troops were pretty cool.

He's definietely prone to self-indulgent grandstanding and while personally I dont' like his style, I have to give him credit for his philosophical about-face after 9/11. He's on the right side of issues now (since 9/11), but tabloid sensationalism is in his DNA. I don't think there's a cure for that.

Reporting on the humanitarian progress in Afghanistan is probably a good assignment for him - on the front lines is not the place for him.

True. I think we may have seen the conversion of a liberal. May is the operative word here. He can't be put in the same category as Arnett. Rivera's heart is in the right place, his motor mouth just gets ahead of his brain too often.

Geraldo was a disgrace anyway. I still can't believe Fox News hired him. If you look at a lot of his reporting the story was this: GERALDO COVERING THE WAR. The war, the soldiers, the issues, became supporting characters as he played the role of this brave, Hemingway-esq reporter out there. He is the most blatant example of the now-it-can-be-told reporter who has lowered journalistic standards to tabloid level. The only thing that surprises me is that he went anywhere where he couldn't plug in his blowdryer for his hair (and moustache). He is the flip side of Peter Arnett -- who is not a journalist but a propagandist portraying a journalist.
