He sure is that. But he's still a self promoting buffoon with a grossly inflated sense of self worth.Oh, no doubt. But he's so enthusiastic that I can't help but enjoy his reports.
I don't want to know a single thing that would aid the enemy, though, and Jerry oughta know that.

Isn't it interesting that Fox is silent on this?NO NOT REALLY. Haven't you noticed that all of their "hotel watcher" reporters were expelled from Baghdad and are now in Amman, Jordan or Kuwait City? When the Iraqis expelled them (only Fox) Fox did not mention it at all (that I ever saw.)
They are fair and balanced, but a little too self-censored.

Is that the interview he gave where he drew a map in the sand indicating:
the roads, and the towns, and showing the current location of the unit he was with,
and their current objectives, and where their supply units were...?
I cursed him when I saw that one,
and said that should just about do it for his tour in Iraq.

No, FNC did openly and proudly state that their reporters were evicted from Iraq the day that it happened.

"He gave the "Peace" sign when he was saying hi to his family back home..."
Actually, when Geraldo had his own TV program, he ended each broadcast with a kiss and the "peace" sign to his family.
Not sure what message he was sending to them, but old habits die hard. "V" sign can also mean Victory...

I missed that last night and he damn sure should no better after spending two weeks with the 82nd. I guess he can to Syria now and start sucking up to Assad so he can cover that war from the inside.

yup. geraldo is guilty of stupidity; arnett of treason. only one is a capital crime, but in time of war either one can get people killed.

"There is no comparison between Arnett and Geraldo. Geraldo has been very pro US, pro mission. Unfortunately he has been too eagar to "scoop" the story. Arnett is anti-American and pro-Saddam. Big difference."
I agree. Let's keep this one in persective. Personally, I like Geraldo's gung ho attitude, but you knew it would bite him in the butt one day. *sigh* Too bad.

FrogDad and I watched him frolicking with the troops last night and it was fun. But then he opened his mouth and said where they were and what they'd been doing. We were aghast.
I agree that his heart is in the right place but he's just never had to work with security, obviously.

Randall--I think the military doesn't have a problem with soldiers giving their full name and town. I think they're incredibly naive. If I were an angry sleeper in the US I would like nothing better than to take out the family of one of the infidels. I hope to God we aren't burned by the military's complacency.
bedolido--CBS Radio just reported that Geraldo got removed from his embedded position in its 9AM report.

So who if anyone will replace him for FOX?

I was watching last night when he started drawing up the military plans on the sand for certain cities -- he told which units were going to attack where and I could not believe it! You made my day!
What an idiot! Any reporter should know better than give away military plans -- doesn't take many brains to figure that out!
With his overwhelming desire to get news out first and look like he is part of the planning, he gave Fox a black eye but then they should have known better than to hire the guy!

True. I hate to see Geraldo go just because of the enthusiasm he brings to his reporting, even though some of it is narcissistic.
