Well, the Charlotte Observer is going to say about 300. It could have been more given people coming and going.
The REALLY good news is that this was with temperatures in the 40's and rain (which thankfully disapated about 10 minutes before the rally...but people were already there)
Yesterday at the anti-american rally, the sun was shining and it was in the 70's. They only had about 100-125.
We would have had 1000 without the rain!

BUMP!!

The crowd was at one moment somber, the next energized, but continuously supportive.
More when I can get the kids settled.

Yes, more please. I want to see me. Me me me me me. Kind of reminds me of that song:
You know talkin' about you makes me smile
But every once in a while
I wanna talk about me
wanna talk about my
wanna talk about #1 oh I me my
What I think, what I like . . . . . .

Far left of lawn. One lady had a sign that said "I'm smitten with Britain".
(because we want everyone to find their picture).

Yup, that's me on the left, very impressive! In the red and blue with the boots and the black rain jacket.
That bulge in my pants . . . that's my cell phone.

We don't know where you are, but we'll keep trying. How about this one:
Whoops! Sorry those are the dignitaries up there with Fern Schubert, a lovely conservative, up front. We'll try again.
To: TaxRelief
No no, you got me right off. The Fern pic should come with a description though: Fern Shubert educates the crowd on the enduring evil of socialist movements from the rise of Hitler to the Soviets to Saddam Hussein's socialist Ba'ath Party to today's anti-war protesters funded by the socialist Worker's World Party.

We drove about 35 minutes. Mecklenburg is a spread out county with
too many traffic lights.
Raindrops on the camera lens.
There looking a little cold and a little damp.

They are taking forever to upload to our silly server. Here's another:
Far right of lawn. Notice the Union Jack on the pole with the American Flag.
Anybody else see themselves? There is also an Old Glory waving, in among the flags. This was also during the Shubert history lesson.

AntiAmerican protestors are starting to distract people.
We don't harass them at their commie rallies: maybe we should. By the way, 6:00 News showed quite a bit of the "ten hecklers heckling (nine newsies nodding), and one of our supporters cry-y-ing" (genuinely, about how disruptive they had been). Not one swing of the camera towards the rally, not even in the background.

Another moment from the rally-
We promised these cuties that their picture would be up!
NBC just gave us a little better coverage on the 11:00 news, but way underestimated the crowds and focused a little bit on the "back row exersising their free speech rights". ABC 11:00 news was ecstatic over the commies arrival and even referred to them as "peacefully pushing their message". What planet is ABC from? The hecklers were yelling so loudly, it was hard to hear some of the speakers.
