Well I think it is great that a lot of the Hollywood community let Michael Moore know that they didn't agree with what he was saying. That is the story of the night not what the loudmouth Moore had to say.
Never thought I would see them boo and hiss when he spoke and drown him out until the orchestra could start playing.

You're right. My tired little fingers left off the essential words. Leave it to me to screw up the punchline!

There are a LOT of Bush supporters in Hollywood----I was honestly SHOCKED. I say this based upon the resounding shouts of "NO" particularly to Moore's statement about the election! It sounded like those things you see from the House of Commons or something, where all these people start shouting down the speaker, and shouting NO!

It did sound like the House of Commons. It was obvious that Hollywood people no longer are afraid to speak out and support Pres Bush!

I wonder if the booers were actors, or the people behind the scenes like the special effects guys, who usually are out of the limelight...

OMG! I never imagined that Michael Moore could outdo his previous boorishness! Did you hear the boos, interspersed with the stunned and embarrassed silence, after the initial applause from the lefties? I was waiting for the hook.
And how sweet that "Twin Towers" won immediately after that, and the wave of loud and sustained applause for those two filmmakers.
Steve Martin: "Right now, some teamsters are helping Michael Moore into the trunk of his limo."
Michael Moore, you are so over. Ya twit.

That's a good question -- even some of the actors looked uncomfortable at what he was saying. I would like to see a replay to see what the crowd was doing.

There are a lot of behind the camera people in attendance. It looked like the nominees in the first few rows were just sitting on their hands.

Just imagine our heroes over there watching this scumbag...raving his lunacies.
And don't forget how nearly everyone stood up when his disgusting name was announced as the "winner"
Unforgivable.
To: PhiKapMom
Looks like most of the boos came from the further back seats. When they panned all the big stars they were not clapping or booing, some smiling (Harrison Ford was one).
I am disgusted but will keep watching hoping someone with class will speak up for our President.
Michale Moore proved Rush was right, the protestors are just Bush haters. They are still pissed that Gore lost.
To: PhiKapMom
Ha...I think that's one replay they WON'T be showing.

SO good to hear such loud opposition to that overbloated weasel! Words fail me.
Why can't they bring the hook back?

It did sound like the House of Commons. It was obvious that Hollywood people no longer are afraid to speak out and support Pres Bush! The Academy had passed the word, "NO POLITICS"
A Jack Nicholson might have been able to get away with defying them, but you can bet Moore will be blackballed from ever getting another nomination.

The thread was pulled... but here's the transcript of Moore's speech.
I am inviting my fellow documentary nominees onstage tonight, they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction.
We like non fiction and we live in fictious times.
We live in a time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president .
We live in a time where we have a men sending us to war for ficticious reasons. Whether is's the fictitious of duct tape or fictuious of orange alertswe are against this war.
Mr Bush shame on you Mr Bush,
shame on you, Mr. Bush
Shame on you and any time you got the Pope against you, your time is up,
Thank you very much, thank you very much

Who's surprised? The producers of the show?
No, they knew ahead of time he'd say something outrageous. They figured he's be a draw for viewers.
The star-studded audience was surprised?
Hell, no. They expected he'd say something outrageous. They were HOPING he'd say something outrageous. They WANTED some drama so they'd have plenty to buzz about at their post-Oscars private parties.
Pass the caviar, Martin.
