Good morning... did you join us on Saturday?
CD
To: Constitution Day
To which he said, "I don't think you're kooks. You're just... enthusiastic! Note to self...."must try harder."
To: Overtaxed
LMAO!!
I guess it's too late to make that my new years' resolution, huh?
To: Constitution Day
Thanks for the mention and thanks for all that you do Brandon, and Sue. It was a super rally - Congressman Billy Bob's speech of "I know what it means to be an American" - that was the spirit of the entire day. It is great to live in the best country in the world.
To: Constitution Day
But then again, it's never to late to start!

Sorry I didn't see / meet all of you (2 Kool - hello, again) - Saturday. Didn't CD and MKM and all involved do a spectacular job! Do you know that a "liberal" coworker said they would have attended if they had known about the rally. PERHAPS THE NEXT ONE NEEDS TO BE IN CARTER-FINLEY STADIUM WITH THE WORKS! Just an idea.....ha - no, I will NOT be organizing that one. But it's just that now that our men and women are risking their lives and some dying and enduring capture and brutalization - even the liberals out there (some) are FOR THE TROOPS! Let's not forget that and try to "win" them with our "enthusiasm" and even "welcome"!!! What do you think? The N&O on the other hand - totally Marxist. Not worth the effort.

I received two calls this morning from the media to try and track down Maha. Donna Mason will probably have her on the show tomorrow morning and I know the AP is chasing her for an interview.

Maha gave her notes that she had at the rally to Bob's Babe so that we could mention some of what she said in our article we are going to write up this afternoon for The Paraglide (a military newspaper).

Go ahead and add me. I had a great time at the rally Saturday. It was nice to meet people who thought like I did. Lunch with all of you was great. I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Can you please add bobsbabe to the Ping list? I already added her to my recently alphbetized and much easier to use list.
Thank You! : )

From today's N & O:
Reasonable crowd
Regarding the March 23 news story "Modest crowds at local rallies": I am quite sure you meant to diminish the value of the hundreds who did attend the U.S. troops/President Bush support rally in Raleigh, with the "modest crowds" headline as well as by combining coverage of pro- and antiwar demonstrations.
If the intention was to lessen the value of this rally and those who attended, I'd like to remind you of Mr. Webster's definition of "modest": 1) not vain or boastful, 2) not forward, as in "modest" behavior, 3) behaving, dressing, speaking in a way that is considered proper, 4) moderate or reasonable in thoughts and behavior, 5) not pretentious.
Actually this perfectly describes those who attended the Support Rally and in general, those who support President Bush and the troops. Thanks for the compliment!
By the way, in your rundown of the handmade signs, you missed the best one: "Land of the Free -- Because of the Brave!!"

Wasn't this your sign kayak?

I had a sign that said that but I'm pretty sure that I saw others with that wording also.
What an outstanding letter to the N & O! Extremely well done!!!

This is quite delayed I know. My mother-in-law was in town when the rally took place and she just recently left, so my free time has been limited. HOWEVER...I was there! I throughly enjoyed it! My friends and I made some cool t-shirts and I had my 3mo son there in his little blue onesie with a star on it. He was holding an American flag at one point and some (I will assume) journalist photographer took his pic.
I'm very interested in other rallies, so be sure to keep me updated about it.
You guys did a great job! I took pictures and sent them to my dad over in Kuwait. He said it was a breath of fresh air from all the anti-war protests he hears about.
