"Sapper" is a term for professional military engineer. A sapper would not likely be a contractor. As others mentioned, it could possibly have been "saboteur" that whoever said "sapper" was trying to say. With the little we know right now, it doesn't make a lot of sense to say a sapper did the deed.

I hear ya. I watch FNC and MSNBC primarily but I just had to check CNN to see if or how they were handling it.

You'd would think all of the news stations could agree to a system during a time like this, to atleast have a station wide alert system. Even a crawl on the bottoms of all the channels would at least keep us informed in the event of 'Breaking News'.

The person reporting is named Lacey with that unit. Someone sitting outside the tent saw the grenade roll by him. Blackhawk helicopter coming in - perhaps to remove injured who are in aid station. Havne't found who is responsible - two people being held currently. Doesn't know if they are suspects - they are Arabic and they may just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Do you think someone may have infiltrated the camp? That is the only way I can see this happen....surely there were guards etc. The CNN reporter said security was very good according to a poster. I just can't fathom this happening unless someone tricked somebody into letting them in or they already worked there.

We knew there was ordinance activity all through Iraq and perhaps neighboring countries.
