I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be Al Qaeda.

When will they learn that all ragheads are a bunch of treacherous bastards who should be shot first and interrogated later.
This is friggin inexcusable, and the locals must be dealt with harshly or they will keep coming.

Heads need to roll after the war over this....bye bye commander.
There is no excuse to let terrorists get this close to camp.
Where were the guards???
To: merrin
But ... if their TV station is still operating, doesn't that give them some sort of "eyes and ears" around the world ...??

CNN just gave more info - think I posted it here (working 2 threads) but newest info is 8 injured, six seriously. Someone penetrated the tent section and lobbed hand grenades into two tents, hitting the highest leadership positions of that unit. Said they have trucks in and out all the time for supplies. Bad security - they simply need to work on this in all our locations.

Somebody who digs saps.
1. A military engineer who specializes in sapping and other field fortification activities.
2. A military engineer who lays, detects, and disarms mines.
Also somebody who breaches obstacles and cuts your concertina wire and sling satchel charges into your bunker.

It's amazing how the anti-Americanism is playing out like the 2000 election with the big cities in the blue states turning out against America. Yep. All left wing.

Re:
The guy Blitzer is talking to said that whoever attacked knew where to attack.
Lacy mention the terrorists may have been contractors. Says the Bn Intl Officer is taking control and doing well. Lacy says he was once in service, sounds like he know what he is talking about. Was not condecending to military. he's from Time Mag (Even acorns are found in manure piles)and Wolfie cut him off.

With Saddam dead (or in a coma), who else is there, besides Dan, to rally the Iraqis?
That is classic!

Notice how CNN went back to reporting the war when things go bad at a peace riot....suckahs!MSNBC sure didn't though. They and Fox have been all over the criminal arrests in NYC!
And by the way, as someone who used to live less than a half-block from Washington Square Park: All the numbers you've been hearing reported are CRAP. Washington Square is routinely twice as busy on any given summer weekend. The antiwar movement is near death.

I think it is a "sabateur", that would be my guess anyway.

Why do they report that? I believe it is because the shock and awe strategy demands that you create as much fear, anxiety and dominance as possible. This is as much a show for the rest of the Axis of Evil (as well as a host of others)of what's to come as it is a strategy to quickly free the Iraqi people. If the whole world gets a front row seat the hope is we will then not need to use force elsewhere. It is no accident the world has as much real time access as we do.
As for the picture you refer to it tells very little in terms of actionable information. About the most they get is that in about 6 hours cruise missles will land somewhere in their country. Being at war, they pretty much know there's more to follow anyway.

It sounds like whoever did this had access to the base and knew where the officers were.

But ... if their TV station is still operating, doesn't that give them some sort of "eyes and ears" around the world ...?? The Iraqis probably know the B-52s are coming. But what can they do about it?

Thanks...but, could the "sap" aka military engineer be a contractor? (i.e. local?)

More splosions on the way.
