This is stupid beyond belief. If the Dem's claim we're fighting this war for foreign oil wouldn't they want to diminish our dependence on same? Oh, that's logical. Logic doesn't apply here. Jackasses!

Senators Nickles/Domenici tried to get ANWR through this way and almost made it. Now they will have to go the debate route and plan on getting more Republicans in 2004!
Norm Coleman promised that he would not vote for ANWR to carry on for Wellstone and I am not going to fault him for that. He made a promise and kept it! Unusual for a politician!
Did we get any RATs to vote for it?

Why can't President Bush do one of those "stroke of the pen, law of the land" things on this matter?

With liberals logic never applies.

Fitzgerald? This guy is starting to piss me off, though I know he's doing it for his reelection effort next year.

Which of the 5 I listed fell off?

Thanks for posting that about Lincoln (D) -- I wasn't sure if it was Chaffee (R) or Blanche Lincon (D)

I say Voinivich.

There aren't any of those cuddly animals where they propose to drill. The area to be drilled is a wasteland and is minute compared to the full expanse of ANWR.

It's not about carrying on Wellstone's legacy. Remember that Coleman is mostly a pro-life Democrat. He doesn't claim to be a conservative.

It's ok folks. We will probably get all we need from Iraq someday soon and we will still have ANWR although I would love to see Senator Boxer DROP DEAD

While Boxer defeats our chance to escape the middle-east stranglehold on oil, at least in part, her allies outside chant, "This is all about oil."
How do you spell Boxer. "P - O - N - D - S - C - U - M"

It would be DeWine before Voinovich. DeWine opposed it last April. Voinovich didn't.

A veto would do nicely as I believe I said. I don't think Babs would like if Alaska's Senators proposed an amendment telling California it couldn't develop its own resources. I think its perhaps time for Linda Murkowski to propose one and see what the reaction of California's two Rat senators is. Should be fun.

W can veto this, right? He can veto the entire bill of course once it reaches his desk. He can't veto a single amendment within it.
