Sorry, I would have to take two. Both have strong RINO streaks in them.
It looks like the name is S.AMDT.272, but www.senate.gov doesn't have the vote yet.

Sen Murkowski said she had 49 votes. Looks like one of them ratted out.

Mike DeWine and Norm Coleman, thanks a bunch for nothing.
BTW, out of curiousity (and Congressman Pat Toomey's challenge), how did Arlen Specter vote?
To: KarlInOhio
RINOs that I know of:
Susan Collins (RINO-ME)
Olympia Snowe (RINO-ME)
Arlan Specter (RINO-PA)
Lincoln Chafee (RINO-RI)
John McCain (RINO-AZ)

It won't get passed by the House.
To: KarlInOhio
Last year it was 54 votes. Among them were Cleland, Carnahan, Wellstone, and Bob Smith. Wellstone and Coleman both agreed on ANWR, but the rest were pick-ups. So, -3 (51).
Our side got 46 including Hutchinson. So, +1. That's 52-- which is where we are now.
Apparently (according to other reports) someone traded votes with a Democrat so from the list below (or above-- counting Coleman), one Democrat dropped off the support list and one Republican fell off the oppose list. I have no idea who.
CW said:
Chafee, Collins, DeWine, Fitzgerald, McCain, Smith, and Snowe oppose ANWR drilling.
Akaka, Breaux, Inouye, Landrieu, and Miller support ANWR drilling.
To: mhking
Yes. It deserves a veto. Our nation's energy policy shouldn't be held hostage to people who believe its ok to drill in the Middle East but not here at home.
To: goldstategop
Specter is pro-ANWR drilling.

The United States is at war against Iraq, whose funds come from the sale of oil and natural gas, and aginst international terrorism, whose funds come at least in part from Arabs made wealthy by the same means. Oue energy supplies from northern South America are threatened by an unholy alliance between Communists and narcotraffickers. Even Mexico is far from reliable.
America must achieve a greater degree of independence from overseas energy sources. It is the height of stupidity, whether on the part of pro-war Democrats like Joe Lieberman or RINOs like Olympia Snow, to deny the development of oil and natural gas from domestic sources.

Spectre voted no (in effect for drilling)
Collins, Snowe, Dewine, Coleman voted aye (against drilling)

He campaigned against drilling in ANWR. It's no surprise.

I was thinking Blanche Lincoln (D-Ar), not Lincoln Chaffee.

Nice to know a majority of our states think they know what's best for Alaska better than the Alaskans do. Talk about liberal colonialism.
