Former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart angrily defended his old boss yesterday against a 1978 rape allegation and charges that he blew a deal for Osama bin Laden's arrest, after talk radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested the ex-president should be asked about the two scandals during upcoming appearances on CBS's "60 Minutes."
"Bill Clinton won't talk about the stuff the American people really want to know. He's not going to address Juanita Broaddrick or giving the North Koreans two nuclear reactors to play with or rejecting three offers to take custody of bin Laden," Limbaugh said yesterday.
Bristling over the remarks, Lockhart told the Washington Post that the nation's top rated radio talker should "keep his mouth shut."
The ex-press secretary then described Clinton's reported million-dollar "60 Minutes" contract as "just one way to continue being part of the public service system."
Clinton has never denied a rape allegation by Arkansas businesswoman Juanita Broaddrick, who told the Wall Street Journal in Feb. 1999 that he brutally assaulted her in a Little Rock hotel room while he was Arkansas attorney general.
He was asked about Broaddrick's charges just once, in March 1999, and told ABC News reporter Sam Donaldson, "There's been a statement made by my attorney. He speaks for me. I think he spoke quite clearly."
No reporter has ever asked the ex-president about his Feb. 2002 confession that he personally turned down a deal for Osama bin Laden's extradition to the U.S. in 1996.
"We'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start meeting with them again," Clinton told New York's Long Island Association. "They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America."
Hear the bombshell bin Laden admission that Clinton won't discuss on "60 Minutes."

CBS loves the bad boys. CBS looks into the eyes of killers and rapist and they swoon. A good man like Bush doesn't make their juices hot...
It's kind of sick.
Sort of interesting to see what a (1) accused rapist, (2) admitted perjurer, (3) impeached former president, (4) person who settled a sexual assault case for $850,000, (5) held in contempt by a Federal judge, and (6) disbarred lawyer
is worth according to CBS: $1 million for 10 1-minute segments. Amazing. What kind of deal should George H.W. Bush have gotten?

Lockhart, you fat pr*ck, just stow it. You're a pu**y who likes to bluster and act tough.
You're also a liar defending a rapist and liar.
I'd love five minutes with this windbag. Alone.

Democrats dump on Rush when he walks, they dump on him when he chews gum. When he's on target and off. My heart goes out to Rush...:
Rush must be on target to start catching flak.

How about Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly?I'd like to see O'Reilly, but I'm not so sure about Hannity.
I like Sean as a talk show host, but I think his debating skills are relatively weak.

I'd add P.J. O'Rourke to this list. He'd rip X42 to shreds.
Actually, IIRC, wasn't P.J. on this segment at one time? Debating Molly Ivins or someone of her ilk? I seem to recall it didn't last more than a couple of weeks.

Putting Clinton up against Dole is like putting Tyson up against someone's old grandmother. CBS, your bias is showing. Dole, the former Senator from Daniels-Archer-Midland, is a man with no core principles. I've tried hard to like him over the years and admit he can have a devastating sense of humor now and then. But he was a RINO before the term was invented and I expect to see Clinton walk all over him. I respect his military service to the U.S. but one can't coast on that forever. CBS knows exactly what it's doing.

No, juse one MORE way to try to stay in the limelight - he's experiencing withdrawal.

Lockhart, I believe, is a character in the 2nd "Harry Potter" novel; I thought he was the star of that stupid sitcom "Alfie McBeal."

BTW Did anyone think the brainless Crystal on Rush today made her case. (Sarcasm) The Vocal Subsystem was performing nominally but the Cognitive Processor had experienced an internal error and voted itself offline.

He should have cut her mike. She obviously doesn't grasp the concept of polite debate/conversation. Runny mouth, that one had.

CBS could replace Bob with, say ... Ann Coulter? Great idea. She would shred the Bent one.

Based on Lockhardt's rection alone, it's obvious Rush hit a sore spot ... Throw a rock at a pack of dogs and the one who yells is the one you hit.
