OMG .. I think Juan Williams from Fox News FINALLY GETS ITBut can he hold on to it? By Sunday he'll be back to normal.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Didn't Helen Thomas give Ari a hard time at a briefing recently, demanding to know why President Bush hasn't been available for press conferences? I keep thinking of this everytime someone here mentions she isn't there.
To: churchillbuff
Because you moron... Sadam is with OBL... he has weapons that he sells to terrorists who are in this country right now. The DIRECT threat part.... hello Does it go over your head all together? Good God. The administration knows he is in on the whole 9/11 thing. The weapons could kill people right here in USA.. do you get that part. Korea can wait a bit. They are not as close to being on our soil.
To: churchillbuff
Nosir - - which is why I'd like to see the Bush Doctrine viz North korea (ie, "containment will work") tried against Iraq. For how many years ?

Not playing. Continue to make a fool out of yourself on a thread where we all came together to discuss what the president SAID tonight, and you came with an agenda.

I was thinking the same thing ... was watching fox news and listening to Britt Hume ... then it hit me.
Bush's speech was not meant for the media or the well informed. Bush's speech and press conference was for the American public's education and elucidation of the current world situtation.

Thank God Bush is our President. Very good press conference. Continue your prayers.

Isn't it nice to have a president who does not need to hide from public questions. The style may not have had finese but it was nice not to have scandal questions.
did anyone notice how the media tried to generate the protesters into a paper tiger?
To: RummyChick
I believe he accomplished what he set out to do...rein in the news folks and the general population. He's on the same track as when we first
WE ARE OUR OWN NATION
We are a member of the UN. We were the makers of the UN. We are not RULED by the UN.
The UN has now grown to be a POWER in itself with members serving their own interests.
God Bless America, Our President and his family and our troops.

ABC doesn't seem to be talking much abouththe US vs UN angle, which is the big hidden story in the President's press conference Of course it is and foxnews has been covering it non-stop. Proof that ABC does not listen but always ASSUMES.
To: Howlin
You are wrong. The President has no power to "Declare War"
Declarations of war come from Congress. If I am wrong, please me a man and tell me WHY I am wrong.
To: prairiebreeze
I honestly don't have the stomach to watch the liberal pukes on CNN rip Bush apart tonight.

Bush has picked up the load, of a failed administration. Ha never publicly put the blame on anyone else. He just shouldered it, and is setting out to fix it!! Well said, woody.

President Bush was calm, cool, and collected tonight and gave a very good accounting of why we need to disarm Saddam and remove him from power. He wants a UN vote on the resolution on the table and he is going to force people to take a stand. When it is over, France, Germany, Russia, and China will either vote with us or we will know where they stand.
Thought he did fantastic being in that room with people that were trying to trip him up!
This President has the best interest of Americans at heart and put our safety first!
Jim Angle -- days away from decision to go to war!
To: Mo1
Yes Juan, there is logic behind the President's thinking and some well thought out "strategery" too. =^)
