Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.
Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.
Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.
The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.
Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.
EAGLES UP !!!

I think that we have a lot more lurkers from talk radio than we imagine. No talk show host is going to put his head on the block with out some assurence of a responce.

Exactly , Bill.......this is going to be like the weeks following Election 2000.......there will be more & more Rallies around the country.
Many local radio shows are sponsoring & spreading the word.
And if there isn't a Rally you can attend; you can put this sticker on your cars:
Support President Bush and Our Troops Stickers

Can be done. I'll research how you can order a copy of the video off of the cspan.org website. It has a product ID number.

So your advice is that we should build a coalition.
Oh shoot! WHY DIDN'T WE THINKING OF REACHING OUT TO OTHER GROUPS??!! HOW COULD WE HAVE BEEN SO DUMB!!!! </sarcasm>

Why don't you plan one BIG successful rally to be held in D.C., with thousands of people in attendance, instead of a bunch of small, piddly ones?? Which is, BTW, an excellent suggestion Rush once made to a caller from Free Republic quite awhile ago. You are an admirer of Rush's, are you not Angelwood?? It might be prudent if you would listen to his advice a little more often.
Great idea! If only we had thought of having more people attend. Excuse my sarcasm, but your post has got my Irish up.
Why don't you plan "one BIG sucessful" rally?
Your comments may have been well intentioned, but inartful. To the extent that you are disparaging ("piddly," "prudent . . . listen to his advice") the efforts of others, your comments are way off base.
I don't want to discourage constructive criticism, but this "get more people to attend" critique is like telling a golfer that his score would be lower if he got more holes in one. How would he do it?
Please tell us how to get more to attend. What would it take to get you to attend? Or did you attend a rally elsewhere?
I nominate you to plan "one BIG successful rally" toward the end of March. Are you willing to put your efforts where your mouth is?
You've struck a raw nerve with me. Unlike the leftists, it's harder to turn out our side in the streets because our side is winning in the halls of power.
Angelwood, kristinn, tgsltakoma and numerous other FReepers of the DC Chapter did an incredible amount of work on this.
Doctor Raoul coordinated an effort to publicize the rally on numerous talk shows. Cong. Dornan promoted the rally on Hannity's show. I got through to Ollie North's show & promoted it. My numerous attempts to get through to Laura Ingraham's show and to Mike Gallagher's show were unsucessful.
I sent over over 250 emails to various area Repubs, YAF, gun rights groups, American Legion posts and others that might favorably view such a rally.
Free the Hostages and Taxman, among others, were out in the cold and snow handing out leafletts promoting the rally.
Other efforts, too numerous to mention, were made.
What more should we have done?

ROFL. Are you trying to compete with me on the humor front? Because you're definitely winning.

I think all our local radio stations are
big chickens when it comes to sponsoring a rally in support of our troops and of the efforts to remove Saddam from Iraq.
They are afraid to upset the lefties who seem to multiply faster than rats. Wait, they are rats!
I was thinking that WMZQ (country station) might be persuaded, as they are a Clear Channel Broadcasting station, and local CCB was sponsor in several other cities' efforts to have rallies. I emailed them (and all the other local stations' news directors and even on-air talent) but got no response.

They may rebroadcast it too. CSPAN often does that.

Thanks. Morale bump to tgsltakoma: I know you're reading the thread, but I want you to hear it twice, honey: "You guys are awesome and deserve huge crowds. I just hope your motivation remains high because I think what the DC chapter gives to this country is immeasurable. Kudos from Texas!"
To: Angelwood; kristinn
You guys stood in the snow.
We Floridians stood in over ankle deep rain.
The difference.
At least 60 degrees!
Well done, DC Patriots!
