This is an interesting turn of events!

Was it a warning that a vote could have been called?

No way -- 2000 first thing in the morning! I have been calling other people's Senators because my two Nickles and Inhofe are two of the good guys!

Got a Senator Frist Christmas card from NRSC. Looks like I am going back on the list for this year as well. I credit Senator Frist for getting us back the Senate.

Love him as Majority Leader!

I am helping get to 2000 with one more post! LOL!!!

If there is anyone I wouldn't want to try and outlast in endurance it would be a heart surgeon!

This IS getting good ... especially when you consider that Frist has his residential days on at a time level of endurance.

Never play poker with Bush ... never try to outlast a guy that cuts on or out people's hearts for a living.

They already had the quorum call, and were in quorum. Anyone could have asked for a roll call due to the empty room, and then a new quorum call would have been made. Since none of the opposition was there to ask for a roll-call (verification), it goes into the record that no senator objected!

I sure prefer Frist to Lott. Here at FR, I sense the same general sentiment. There are, of course, a fair number of vocal detractors who think Frist is caving, working too slowly, etc. Personally, I give the benefit of the doubt to those who are more experienced in the job (Frist is actually a Senator, and a smart politician), and right now, I am pleased with his performance.

See post 674. Frist mentioned that the the Republicans are on the floor just before he finished speaking.

The campus there is really pretty! My youngest daughter and I went to San Diego last December for my oldest daughter's wedding and then went back to Yucaipa/Redlands/San Bernardino to visit!

Such a momentus event will forever be captioned with "Okey". Seems strangely fitting.

I'd say "bon soir", but not wishing to be seen as surrending I'll say "goodnight" instead.

I got on this thread before Sen. Graham (SC) was finished and it took me this long to read through all the great posts...I keep telling my husband that the best stuff comes on TV late at night! I just loved Senators Sessions, Allard, and Graham tonight...what an insight we are gaining into those who are representing us and PRAISE GOD for the events that catapulted Senator Frist into the Majority Leadership post! AMEN!
