Intelligent thoughts by Marc..not that it will make any difference to McAuliffe or the rest of the RATS. They thrive on negativity and lies. May it lose them even more seats the next time around.

This is, in essence, a decoy - a lure. Just like Ozawa's task force was at Leyte Gulf. And Terry McAuliffe will probably react just the way the GOP wants him to - taking the bait hook, line, sinker, and possibly half the fishing tackle, too.

Healthy political debate should be unabridged and vigorous, but must also be honest and responsible Dems are incapable of being honest or responsible
BTW .. Great Letter!

I haven't heard a democrat say one positive thing about this country in about 2 years, maybe more. Since we had what Peter Jennings said was "a temper tantrum" in '94, they've done nothing but run down this great nation. I don't know about you all, but i'm sick of it.

Who cares? As long as GOP starts pointing out to the public the lies of the Dems. I say it is about time RNC spoke out.

Not only with this letter, but since he took over
as head of the RNC. Remember, President Bush had
to do a little arm twisting to get him on board.
Mr. Racicot has answered the call, and proved
the President right!

>>>Democrats assail the President on everything, including the war on terrorism going so far as to allege that the one person who is most responsible for the safety and security of all Americans, the Commander-in-Chief, has underfunded the war on terrorism.Under the leadership of Bill Clinton, defense department spending, dropped from 4.8% of GDP and 21.6% of total federal budget outlays in 1992, to 3.0% of GDP and 16.1% of total federal outlays in 2001. President Bush has increased that to 3.5% of GDP and 17.6% of total federal outlays in 2003. And I would expect that figure will eventually go higher, as the military action and deployments increase in the war on terrorism.
The end of the Cold War, shouldn't have been a signal to reduce defense spending to the levels seen during the Clinton years. In 1940, US defense outlays hit a low of 1.7% of GDP and history shows, that the US military wasn't ready to fight WWII.
At one of Ronald Reagan's last public speaking engagements, a Republican Gala, on Febuary.3,1994, the former President said the following:
"The Democrats may remember their lines, but how quickly they forget the lessons of the past. I have witnessed five major wars in my lifetime, and I know how swiftly storm clouds can gather on a peaceful horizon. The next time a Saddam Hussein takes over Kuwait, or North Korea brandishes a nuclear weapon, will we be ready to respond? In the end, it all comes down to leadership, and that is what this country is looking for now."
Reagan's remarks were prophetic and showed the lack of leadership that President Clinton was giving America. I think today, America is getting solid leadership from President Bush and Democrats are in no position to condemn anyone.
