Tarik Azziz just screwed up...Royally! [Wont Answer E-V-I-L Jew Questions Alert]
Foxnews | Me

Posted on 02/14/2003 11:05:39 AM PST by VaBthang4

Was just watching Vatican Press Conference with Tarik Azziz and a member of the Israeli media stood up and asked a routine question about Iraqi missiles and Tarik Azziz dismissed his question and said it wasnt his purpose to come and answer questions of the Israeli media.

Cat calls and sneers shot out around the room and then a German reporter asked Azziz if he'd answer the same question put forward from a German reporter. Many reporters walked out of the room...Foxnews pulled the plug.

MSNBC didnt.

Bet you we won't hear that outcry about Aziz's comments

That's because Arabs are expected to act in this manner.

I think the Pope would be doing a good thing by giving Aziz something other than his ring to kiss.

LOL! Not to worry, a few thousand Americans, Brits and Aussies will soon give Tarek that opportunity!

"incredible hatred"

Yes it is ... and it goes back probably over 4,000 years.

Since the time of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham sired Ismael (the seed of the Arab nations). Abraham also sired Isaac (the seed of the Jewish nations). However, Ismael was born first and therefore, the Arabs claim they are entitled to the inheritance of Abraham. But ... GOD gave the inheritance to Isaac.

When the boys were teenagers, they began fighting - instigated by Ismael - taunting Isaac that Isaac wasn't the true son and had no claim to the inheritance. In Jewish law, the eldest son is entitled to ALL the father's inheritance. Because of the taunting, Sarah insisted that Abraham put Ismael and HIS MOTHER out of the camp. Abraham did.

GOD told Ismael's mother that he would make a great nation of Ismael - however, Ismael's HATRED of SARAH and ISAAC led him in another direction.

Thus - about 4000 years later, we have the Arab nations still wanting to KILL all Jews. Hitler tried to help out, but the U.S. got in the way. Thus, the U.S. is also an enemy.

When people realize the depth of this HATRED, it becomes obvious that Iraq is not interested in giving up their plans to annihilate the Jews.

Just as an aside; I have always believed that the Arab hatred and abuse of women came from Ismael's hatred of Sarah (who had him banished), and his own mother (whom he perceived as weak). I don't have any scripture for that, just a personal opinion.

For this Pope, there are no "sides" in these matters. He speaks as advocate for people oppressed everywhere and does not hide from the opportunity to address his concerns with those who may be able to do something about them: No matter what we think of them or what the chances are. To him, its about prayer.

Will the Pope condemn Aziz for his antisemitism? What do you think the Pope will say when--not if--Israel is attacked by Iraq, despite Aziz claiming the Iraqi missles can't hit Israel?

The Pope's reaction to the Holocaust was complex and inconsistent. At times, he tried to help the Jews and was successful. But these successes only highlight the amount of influence he might have had, if he not chosen to remain silent on so many other occasions. No one knows for sure the motives behind Pius XII's actions, or lack thereof, since the Vatican archives have only been fully opened to select researchers. Historians offer many reasons why Pope Pius XII was not a stronger public advocate for the Jews: A fear of Nazi reprisals, a feeling that public speech would have no effect and might harm the Jews, the idea that private intervention could accomplish more,...

The conclusion is actually correct, and therefore doesn't justify the headline. Public statements against Nazism were met with harsh retribution from the Nazis against those whom the statements were intended to protect.

Other inaccuracies:

"The Pope did act behind the scenes on occasion."

Pius XII Saved More Jews Than Schindler (700-850,000 Jews)

This might explain why Einstein changed his position regarding the Church, why the Chief Rabbi of Rome during WWII converted to Catholicism taking the Pope's name as his baptismal name, and why the New York Times declared him "a voice in the wilderness."

Like many others, the peacenik bishops are being used by people whose purpose isn't peace but the propping up of a stalinist regime.

Yup.

ANSWER shares the views of the Iraqi spokesman. Their speakers are just as virulently anti-Israeli and pro Palestinian terrorist as Hamas.

The Pope is of course not going to condemn anyone, he'll pray for their conversion. I don't agree with the anti-war stances of a lot of Catholic leaders, but JPII is a saint (well, he's gotta die first, but you know) and has more credibility speaking out for the oppressed and poor and for freedom than anyone alive today.

Can anyone point to a single statement by the Pope regarding Saddam Hussein's treatment of his people?

They won't even deny that they have missiles that can hit Israel."

Maybe the POPE's rep could ask Aziz how come Saddam shot missles at Israel , a non participating GULF WAR nation last time

Nah He won't do that

I agree with the first part of your statement--that I'm against the anti-war stances of a lot of Catholic leaders and that JPII is a saint, but I would assume that he would also seek to protect the freedom of the Israelis from attack by the Iraqis. If he stays silent on the overt antisemitism of Aziz and the rest of the Iraqis, his silence will be telling.

Telling of what? That he hates Jews too? Give me a break.

If he released a statement condemning anti-Semetism every time Muslims went on a Jew-hating rampage, he wouldn't have finished the first statement before it was necessary to release 100 more; it's an ongoing policy of hate, not individual incidents. The Church is very clearly supportive of the Jews, and the Pope has talked about their special role in the world; he doesn't have to release a statement every hour to 'prove' he's against hate.
