If he stays silent on the overt antisemitism of Aziz and the rest of the Iraqis, his silence will be telling. Telling of what? That he hates Jews too? Give me a break.
If he released a statement condemning anti-Semetism every time Muslims went on a Jew-hating rampage, he wouldn't have finished the first statement before it was necessary to release 100 more; it's an ongoing policy of hate, not individual incidents. The Church is very clearly supportive of the Jews, and the Pope has talked about their special role in the world; he doesn't have to release a statement every hour to 'prove' he's against hate.

I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you. Why shouldn't the Pope condemn antisemitism--especially when it occurred in his backyard by an alleged Christian? If the Pope says nothing, as I said, it is very telling.
