World's Dumbest Protestor
yahoo ^ | 2/13/03 | yahoo/AP

Posted on 02/13/2003 7:21:34 PM PST by Britton J Wingfield

Frank Wright of Lanesboro, Minn., marches with other protesters in rural Harmony, Minn., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, holding a sign reading 'What Would Mr. Roberts Do?' Wright had the perfect idea: Use a beloved television character to make his point about a potential war with Iraq. The only problem was that he meant to write 'Mr. Rogers,' he explained 'Perhaps I don't watch enough TV.' (AP Photo/Janet Hostetter)

Yeah, I was completely impressed. Too subtle, I guess. I didn't want to register to vote on my work computer anyway.

I think he got his characters mixed up:

Mr Roberts was a hero WWII naval officer played by Fonda who WOULD fight Iraq.

Mr Smith was heroic Washington DC politician played by Fonda who fought honestly for what he believed and filibustered evil and corruption.

NEITHER character is represented by the corrupt, power-hungry, hypocritical Dasholes that Hillary! leads in the democrat party.

Not particulary funny, but:

Today, I made a grocery run. In the parking lot and on a traffic island were about 20 or so "protesters" waving signs, "Drop Bush, Not Bombs". Okay, I sez to me Irish self...that's OK...they have a right to Free Speech and to have their concerns and positions known.

But...being the malcontent that I am...I approached a group of about ten of them and asked about "this Iraq war thingy"...could they tell me about it? In a collective voice, they all replied, "It is all just about oil".

Now the fun begins!

I asked the following questions:

1. Name one of the two major rivers that flow through Iraq

2. Name three countries that border Iraq

3. Is the Ted Sea east or west of Iraq?

4. When did Saddam Hussein become president and what did he do before that?

5. What is the name of the UN Resolution that authorizes monitoring of Iraq's wepaons capability?

Amazingly, not one of the 20 folks waving banners could answer even ONE of those questions!

GO FIGURE~!

Britton J Wingfield claims:   "Frank Wright of Lanesboro, Minn., marches with other protesters in rural Harmony, Minn..."

Good grief, not Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect?

"This has for to be the funniest thread I have ever seen!"

Close, but I still chuckle when I thunk of the "Where can I find ducks" thread - that got into the hundreds, with some VERY witty posts along the way.

BTW - would love to Freep the UN again with y'all on Saturday, but I have a committment in front on the Bridgeport abortion mill on Saturdays (the day of the killins').

What does "blog" mean?

It's not listed in the dictionary.
